Let it be known to all that read these words..bigots and non-bigots alike..never have we had in the anals of history, a group of braver men. These incredibly brave African American warriors were laughed at, mocked, even physically beaten by their own white countrymen. They endured all this yet prevailed to serve their country! So racists, bow your heads in shame! For we shall never see the likes of these extraordinary supermen ever again... the legendary elite warriors... The Tuskegee Airmen!
@THEVETERAN7 in case you didn't know there were war vets that came home and were hung from trees and burned alive. Have you ever heard of Emit till?? All you have to do is google his pictures and I need no further explanation. There was a concentrated order in the US it's called the kkk and they did major damage. Were the jews tortured and enslaved for 400 years even after being granted so called freedom?? The point is racial ignorance is a mental disease. Before you speak be more informed.
when ever someone gets a chance. someone tell me the name of the song in the backroughnd when they are talk for the first few min in there beds. thanks
14 years after the Little Big Horn, the 7th Cavalry was entrapped in a box canyon, and if it wasn't for the 9th Cavalry, there would have been a second massacre of the 7th Cav.
The Buffalo Soldiers, 9th Cavalry was rewarded with Presidential Parade Escort and Guard Duties for accomplishments, furthermore; the 9th Cav. received as many citations as most of the white cavs.
Read the epic novel, "Rescue at Pine Ridge", 5 stars Amazon, and Barnes & Noble.
I hope you all are watching the movie, learning from it and not just arguing on this message board. There was racisim at home. What these men went through and later acheived is amazing and I thank them for fighting for the allied cause. They far braver than I will ever be. Please though, dont campare white 1940's Americans with Nazi's. The Nazi movement was a systematic brainwashing to dehumanize other races, political ideas, cultures and disabled peoples

@fidan2fast comparing nazism to americas problems is crazy. We americans were not gassing blacks. We americans were not invading and taking over and killing other countries. In Rome when the nazis came people fled, when the americans came people kissed the soldiers, ......... yikes
@PInk77W1 racism is the same as nazism, end of conversation, it's not a problem, it's just racism
invading has nothing to do with nazism, and as much as I remember, America did some invading too
and how much the european people loved american souldiers, does not give us a picture, because, if you remember, people loved Hitler too, and gave him power
and who cares if you didn't kill blacks, you spread hatred towards them and they were treated like shit, and you claimed that's bad in the same time
@fidan2fast racism means u think someone with different skin color is less than u. Nazism means u kill jews by the millions. Far different. I would rather someone think less of me, than kill me. Nazis invaded many many countries so yes i would think it is central to their core beliefs. People loved Hitler because they knew not to meant death. People loved americans for freedom they gave them. You make no sense
@PInk77W1 Wrong nazism means anyone of aryan race (specifically blue eye'd blond hair) are superior, so that isn't subjected towards jews only, also it doesn't matter what nazism meant back then because the neo nazis now hate everyone who isn't white, specifically blacks and jews.
@Kiratsuchii 1. i never said it was directed towards jews only. 2. i was talking about back then or i would of said "neo nazi." I know nazis killed gays and catholics and jehovahs witness and many other sub groups, but jews were the lions share
It's funny how some people don't learn history, yet speak as though they do. I respect the Tuskegee airman and I detest what they were put through. What we did to the Japanese/Blacks during WWII was wrong but you're really going to compare that with the what happened in concentration camps? I don't recall ovens with human remains or flesh laden lampshades here in the US kid. I don't recall us cutting people open while still alive. Give me sources.
@THEVETERAN7 i cant understand how you say killing people is wrong, but treating them like shit and the lowest life form there is, the same people who were formerly enslaved, often killed and tortured (yes, they were)
and all this while a new democratic world was being born
@THEVETERAN7 , well, lynching, whipping someone until the flesh is tattered on the back and legs, raping, demoralizing, dehumanizing may not be an oven. However, it's still dead and treated like an animal.
@fidan2fast judge the Nazis? Dude, the fact that America discriminated against African Americans is completely wrong but they did not kill 6 million people! So don't talk about "judging the Nazis."
No, America just killed a couple million by transporting them into slavery across the middle passage, throwing the bodies of untold numbers of dead into sea during the horrible trip.
@3ISAMAGICNUMBR I don't fucking care how much people were killed by Nazis or Americans, it's not a fucking competition or a measurement about being idiotic...
having racism in your country, supported by laws, and promoting democracy and freedom in other countries in the same time, is wrong, no matter what... it's no more than pure hypocrisy
Imagine the Nazis promoting democracy in America? how would that have any logic???
These guys were tough to make it regardless of the racial battles they had to deal with. Imagine them having to see captured German officers being able to go into movie theaters when they couldn't. The uphill battles they faced were harsh, yet they made their mark in history.
It's sad that even today racists jerks still belittle these guys. It mark in history was not how many Germans they shot down, but how they did so well against their own countrymen holding them down.
Unless we don't buy american and prop up the US dollar thier will a country such as ours that no one will fight for anymore , and will be divided up amongst the truest sence of greed /, hence it's not here .. today.
Maybe this film wasn't 100% accurate, but these men were true American heroes. They were some of the best of the best, and its a same that stories about men in similar situations during that war.
who's the one that crashed? the english lit major?

My favorite part of the movie is the dialogue between the cadets after a day of training:
Cadet Lee: ( to cadet Peoples mocking Major Joy) Hey you, cadet Peoples. why you join the air corps, boy?
Cadet Peoples: I'm not even worried about him. He's just another door in the way.
Cadet Johns: Another cracker in the box.
Cadet Roberts: Another pecker in the woods! (everyone laughs)

@THEVETERAN7 the fact that you had less violence, doesn't change the fact that nazism is the same as rasism
and I am talking about the ideology, not the way it was inflicted on people
racizm is same as nazism! but with the only difference that one is about races and other about nations, get that straight!
and my point was, that America shows itself to the world as a hero and savior, judging the inhumanity of others, while having inhumanity at home
