  • S&W .500?!? SOMEBODY has more money than they have sense! : )

  • I think he paid over a grand for it and at $2 a round......well, too expensive for the pleasure.

I'd brought my 45 since he had offered some reloads I could fire. They weren't feeding right so I have no video of mine. Next time, I'll bring my own ammo. Never had any issues using factory rounds.

  • If you need more than 5 shots with a gun like that, you know you're in trouble. I wouldn't want a 500 thrown at me, much less shot at me.

Didn't look too bad for a first time with it. Steadier than I would be.

  • 0okamino: I think it weighs five pounds loaded. I wouldn't want one thrown at me either. I'm partial to my 45. At least it takes more than one shot to make my hand go numb.

  • damn that was some nice shootin for first time handling such a monster

  • that looks like san leandro pistol & rifle range! in doors ! wow that model 500 is beautiful!

  • You, my good sir, have way too much time on your hands. In the interest of free speech, I'll leave this up. Rosie O'Donnell? That really sums it all up in a nutshell (pun intended!).

  • .....what happened to the post that was in response too? Account deleted? About time. I left the rantings of a far, far left whack job up and now it's disappeared. We couldn't elect Rosie to be our Queen, anyway. Where do these people come from?

  • No offense, but u could try leaning a little bit to the front and take half a step back with your right foot. This gun has simply too much power and recoil...that's why I love revolvers the most

  • I like seeing someone experienced get to enjoy such a beast of a gun, you did an amazing job shooting it for your first time. The laughter after the first shot made me smile, it reminded me of the first time I shot a 357 with my dad when I was ten :)

  • oh yea....those 1911's are so smooth compared to letting the 500 off. don't think those were light loads though-i load a 335gr bullet with 13.5gr of titegroup and everyone says they aren't much worse than a .44. search 500 magnum boom to see a friend of mine demonstrating the difference.

  • I gotta try one.

  • I'll definitely stick to my .38/.357 revolver!!!

  • That is some scary weapon i tell you that... i think i will stay with shooting shotguns and stuff, i dont wanna get my wrist broken ;)

  • leen 4wd in ur stance, + u'll get btr cntrl

  • Lean forward? The thing weighs 5 lbs (loaded). Doesn't sound like much til you try to hold it out in front of you. I had to lean back just to balance out. I'll stick with my M1911A1.

  • spread your stance, put one foot forward and most of the weight on it. i know it's not the lightest gun(the scope, rings, and base added over a lb. to mine) but spreading your stance and leaning forward will keep you from getting knocked back a couple steps as in the video. gotta give ya props though for having the balls to shoot 'the most powerful handgun in the world'.

  • Big gun but poor gun handling. Always unload at the firing line, don't bring it back to the case whether you think it is empty or not.

  • Thank you for the pointer. That was my first trip to an actual range. I knew it was a five round pistol but I'd lost count. Next time I'll become familiar with the weapon before it's loaded. The pistol belonged to the guy with the camera. He loaded it and handed it to me. I guess he thought it would be funny to watch me abuse myself and tape it to boot. Next time I'll also let my arms flex at the elbows, then maybe my shoulders wouldn't hurt so much!

  • now THAT looks like fun....subscribing
