That's fantastic!!! Thanks for sharing the How to in comments. I'm a metal fabricator by trade but I love integrating good ideas into new things. Man I wish I had thought to get a patent on physics and light before Sensetile did!!! Oh well, maybe I can get one on gravity.
@prithvisukta It's a simple process of installing fiber optic cables with both ends exposed at the surface of the counter top. There is no real technology beyond easy to purchase concrete and fiber optic cable, you pay for those when you buy them. Don't go throwing around patent, trademark, or copyright infringement unless you are the legal owner of said documents. It's annoying when people degrade others just because they can get away with it anonymously online.
@prithvisukta Interesting... I went to your video channel and you don't display anything I am displaying. I have mentioned no trademark - patent or specific technology. I am a professional concrete artisan producing "one of" pieces of work with ZERO resemblance to your name - trademark - patent or technology.
I will gladly display any product I produce anywhere I am able, anytime, to anyone interested.
@ConcreteBizPros Actually, Sensitile Systems does have a patent on this technology. It is patent number 7229203 and it covers the use of light pipes (including optical fibers) to create a "responsive and interactive surface". If you produce this product for any commercial reason, including to advertise your services, you are are infringing on our intellectual property against which action may be taken.
@prithvisukta Infringement?? While searching the terms translucent concrete, I found no less than 7 different you tube accounts with a an article of manufacture for detecting motion that includes a substrate with a plurality of volumes of material, where each volume is capable of transmitting light from one location on a surface of the substrate to a second location.
It seems you will be quite busy chasing down every person who transmits light through any substrate.. Good luck with that!
Great project made very simple, looks like they will be going after NASA and the Goverment for product infringement .
