The band Coheed and Cambria's first major record was a concept album thats been running in installments since then. If you haven't heard of them you might try checking them out if you have time, for a band that started out taking on such a task they're doing, in my opinion, a great job.
Then you sir are awesome, haha. It seems alot of people haven't heard of him before and I'm quite suprised considering he's appeared on alot of albums. I'm suprised you didn't mention Manowar. *sniggers*
I'm just happy Candlebox, Motley Crue (love Saints of Los Angeles) and Guns an Roses (about time) had a strong showing in 2008. I never heard of your number one pick, I'm not a big metal fan these days but it sounded interesting. I have to check out Judas Priest too, forgot about their new album.
808's and Heartbreak by Kanye West gets my best album of 2008. I'd also give mention to The Slip by Nine Inch Nails, The Recession by Young Jeezy, Tha Carter III by Lil Wayne, and Paper Trail by T.I., Sorry if you're not a fan of rap, thats just how I see it.
I have to say I'm not that much of a metalhead. I only own Death Magnetic, but I might just seek out some of the albums you mentioned. And you're right, St. Anger was a decent Metallica album, and definetly underrated.

I can't take a list seriously if it has pop music on it, pop music is vapid.

Ayreon are awesome. Jorn Lande is brilliant on that album. You ever checked out much of his solo work? It's amazing.

Ugh, I still haven't picked up "01011001", no time or expendable cash. What song did you play in the background during your description of the album?
As usual, this was very interesting to listen to.

dude... and Black Ice?
luchozepp 3 years ago
Ok black ice was cool but AC/DC do release the same album over and over. Not that it's a bad thing, but they don't tend to break new ground.
