@LogicalFlawDetector if not for the exchange students we wouldnt even like to use english in class... and strictly speaking our accents are not worse than american english when compared to british accents...
Actually, mr. European wanker, American accents are universal. I am not American. I am originally from India. If you were to ask some English speaking person from India -- there are 300 million of them -- about the American vs British comparison, most would go for the American accent. Most people in non-English speaking cultures, when asked about English, would be familiar with American accents, and virtually none with European accents. Go, take a walk!
@LogicalFlawDetector Yes american english is more influential nowadays, but that doesnt mean it is better. personally i do not prefer that attitude in the american accent. and O, my point was that we do not use much english here, no matter how we might sound. i am sure it is a high-quality lecture if he puts it in norwegian.
he was there to introduce terence tao to us, not acting on american national television. as long as people can understand what he was saying, why should you care about his accent?
which part of the introduction you don't understand?
@LogicalFlawDetector Hahaha, I'm quite sure you'll find that anyone from any English speaking country apart from the US will say that Americans have the worst accents.. And that's not even mentioning how you butcher the language in the first place. Grow up mate.
Read my previous comment regarding how someone from a non-US English speaking nation would be more familiar with the American accent. The American accent is as influential as the Dollar. There are more people on this planet who would want to move to New York City than Sweden. Why is that, mr. Swedish wanker?
I like his accent

Just in case somebody wants to know: the guy giving the introduction is Helge Holden, professor of mathematics at NTNU.

Some people won't like his English because he has not used any slang in introduction.

The introduction was gay as hell. Europeans have the worst accents.
