  • @Jacoustical I would have to agree - there is some feeling to this song though not in the traditional sense of emotional feeling. In that I am relatively positive that after having played this his hands hurt like a motherfucker.

  • One of my favorite moments on Octavarium. :-D

  • He looks like the devil.

  • anyone catch his facial expression at 0:29?

  • @1dednimnepo in his mind: wow, i need to get an "easy" button cuz i am on fire

  • @1dednimnepo O.O? that one? :P

  • It's not because he's playing fast that there's no feeling in this solo.

It's full of energy and emotion.

  • PPPFFfffff , when I see Him , it's soooooo easyyy

  • ahhahhahaha he had an argument with his comb

  • this is not a solo. its apreggios followed by a unison with jordan.

  • i think that one of his most brutal solos is in the AS I AM song

  • In the name of god is a LOT faster, are you kidding me? That shouldn't even be a questionable doubt. That solo blows my mind in so many ways it's not even funny

  • the most crazy and fastest solo of his is on "the dark eternal night".

  • wht bout.. glass prison ...hmm? :)

  • no dude the dark eternal night is faster. in the name of god is longer

  • strike that, i just listened to them and yea, in the name of god is faster

  • That wasn't even really a solo, that was just a bridge/melody... (I guess that's also saying something about what his actual solo's do sound like)

  • This is awesome, as the man himself.

  • Killzone mode right there

  • Those lucky souls who got to get there head exploded.. if only I could've been there.

  • did someone realize that this is played faster than on the album?

  • what is song name? :O

  • "Never Enough" from the album Octavarium

  • great song, but for the most difficult solo of JP take a look to Stream of Consciousness

  • i think in the name of god is probably the most difficult solo of John Petrucci

  • Have you heard Stream of Consciousness, Fatal Tragedy, or anything? o_o They feel faster.

  • but i play the guitar and i know that in the name of god is harder than stream of consciousness or fatal tragedy

  • No way, I can NEARLY play that, he has loads of much harder solos.

  • i have a cover on my channel

i wouldnt say its the most difficult

  • Now I would say have heard too much bach or he's just genius. everything i think

  • this is never enough, off of octavarium. the lyrics were written by portnoy, about ungrateful fans. ironic, that its on octavarium , a very contraversial album among DT fans. Some think it's epic, some think it's too mainstream

  • this solos awesome, but the prechoruses to this song are the best parts

  • Noo, this solo is not underrated, it's one of the most difficult solos of DT lol

  • Looks like son goku LOL

    nice guitar :D

  • Looks like Hollywood-Goku** :P

  • Even though the song is supposed to be DT's "emo" song and all that shit, this is still a bad-ass solo.

  • someone got this video on better quality!??!?!#

  • This song is Never Enough from Octavarium.

  • What song is this?! It sounds so familiar?!

  • never enough from octavarium

  • This solo is underrated.

It's just a little airborne! It's still good! It's still good!

  • Is John Petrucci "Petruccifever"?

If you don't know what I'm talking about, don't bother responding.

  • hi.i know what u mean and the answer is no.Petrucci fever is a very good guitarist here on youtube and this is just a username.

  • I figured that out just 2 mins after I posted this, I felt pretty damn stupid, thnx tho

  • Don't bother responding. Well I did. Too bad..

  • john petrucci super sayian lol

  • LOL it really looks like it

  • His hair turns me on

  • one word..........DAMN!!

  • petrucci is just too fricking in awesome.....never enough has one of my favourite unisons along with in the name of God

  • It's easy to say someone is playing too fast or slow, too many scales or not enough diversity. Surely you don't listen to music just to analyze it?

Also, what exactly is feeling? You mean you can't cry to it, or he isn't pulling weird faces while playing? Or it's too fast to convey emotion?

Surely the only person who can comment on how much "feeling" is in it is Petrucci himself.

Maybe grow up some and try other music except romantic and blues?

    /endrant

  • BOOYEAH !! : D nice said

  • although i would say he's really in to his music. My favorite guitarist buuut ... its too much to get pissed about.

  • i agree, speed doesn't take away from emotion. if you're a really hyperactive guy are you going to express it by playing slow? kinda doubt it. as far as technicallity goes, JP's practice hours add up to be longer than my life, technicality is ground into his style so when he conveys emotions it's gonna be technical. that's my thoughts on it anyways

  • personaly i agree with most Jacoustical said except the blues thing which is basicaly the best music to start from if u are going to listen to things like: rock, metal and anything related to it.

  • @Jacoustical Yeah the biggest complaint (and the only valid complaint) is that he doesn't play with emotion. I say that doesnt matter at all, the sound is what matters not the look of the guitarist

  • haha you are so wrong leitonez. I find it clearly that u dont know who petrucci is. If u are looking for a guitarist with feeling, its Petrucci.

  • YOU suck...

  • Leitonez, maybe you should look around and listen to all of the stuff he's done before you make baseless statements, hmm? You just made yourself look like a complete idiot to everybody that knows what they're talking about. Then again, I imagine that probably doesn't bother someone like you overmuch so...

  • Leave him alone, he probably was to busy listening to dragonforce, to pay attention to the video.

    :)

  • I'm sure you don't like him because he's better than you countless times, or maybe he has scored with your mama?

  • you've obviously never listened to petrucci bud.

  • John Petrucci is a god !

  • what song is this from?

  • Never Enough, off of Octavarium.

  • dream theather rocks.

  • this guy is amazing, very quick sweep picking, sounds good to...very good

  • It's mainly alternate picking... which is all the more ridiculous

  • alternate, economy, sweep is a choice of tone, sound.

  • look at those sweeps! probably one of the hardest DT unisons ive ever heard

  • geez that's sick i can't play this solo really well yet it's so ridiculous

  • i love n'sync hair petrucci

  • hahahahaha

  • @bruetus i prefer jesus hair petrucci

  • no se entiende na

  • Which song is it?

  • 06-Never Enough from Octavarium

  • My favorite part in that song. Rock on.

  • Yes its very amazing solo
