My personal answer for this ...is yes ...the pain of realizing one hasnt live life to its fullest is a very tentalizing pain mainly on its persistence in appearing during the course of life ....it resemples an intermittent tooth ache creating suffering from deep inside our skull. In the ideas of George Gurdjieff and the 4rth Way, there are some references on the uneccesary incidents of pain ....due to the fact that there is a closed loop which i will call it the pain loop which isnt helping!
These ideas which were part of my life before now somehow dont make a fit with my most recent ideas of buddhism ie: the middle way ..... which can very well exist as a lifestyle ...... and the proof one will find if one will live long time in buddhist countries!! The question is though: are all types and incidences of pain valuable to our growth? and if they are, then the pain of realizing that one hasnt lived his life to the fullest, isnt that yet another type of pain ..... much tentalizing!!!

I agree! Since I live in pain everyday due to spinal problems, I have learn the joy of simple pleasures I took for granted most of my life. Thanks for sharing the wisdom. It is comforting! ;)
