You can transport part of cup from chamber 0 to 1, just brake it near that grill thingy, and it'll be in elevator :D

You dont have to have Steam to use Portal, but you do need it for the achievements.

The game doesn't register if you dropped a regular cube in the incinerator. It will still think it was the companion cube. Here's proof.

Actually, I've worked with the level editing tool - the companion cube will have a sensor on it so that when it reaches a certain point it triggers the doors opening. No other box will work.

Yes it can, i used "ent_create_portal_weight_box" to create a normal cube so i wouldn't have to disintegrate the companion cube :P
