  • Why do 9 people not like this amazing song?

  • Fast and bulbous!!

  • pas mal

  • Don is, realistically, the only keyboardist who could have replaced Jon. The guys in the band all knew him, he played with Roger in Rainbow, and with Ian P with Gary Moore, and for all I know, backed up Big Ian at some point too. Perfect fit. The only choice.

  • deep purple is the only band where i like ALL songs..

  • Good Band^^

  • Гилан МОЛОДЧАГА !!!!

  • I cannot help I have gooseboops all the time. Ian Paice is STUNNING (as ever!)

  • I prefer deep purple with steve morse than ritchie blackmore

  • @olivierjaquet you are crazy

  • @RockAli22

    steve morse = EPIC

    ritchie blackmore = LEGEND!!!!!!!!!

  • Well, having read most of the comments I can only say this.

It´s not bad at all. Some comments on the performance of the "new guy´s" are way to harsh. They do a pretty good job, but.....

Yes, there is something missing. Technically there is nothing wrong but it lacks flavor. The magic between Blackmore and the Maestro Jon Lord is not something that can be recreated without them. It´s a matter of feeling and shades of sound. It´s good but no. It´s not the same...

  • Don Airey picks up where Jon Lord left off.

  • this video should be having 400 million views. not Justin Queerbeirs baby. Agreed?

  • Ian Paice looking fit as always haha

  • ONE deep purple "Ian Peace" others only imitations of the originals, inimitable and incomparable John Lord, Ritchie Blackmore and another planet. Ian Gillan now voiceless. Oh my god the 70 years'

  • the best fkn song ever

  • I'm happy that deep purple took steve morse! He feets so well with deep purple !

  • yea dude..he's f%^&% good.!!!rock n roll!!!!

  • AWESOME :D !!!

  • cum on I was there when this was and it still rocks shizznit ...are you kiddin me what....sit back and rock your blues away

  • DeepPurple is the best HArdRock group of the world in my opinion

    long live DeepPurple =))

Steve and Don are also good ^^

  • Вот это челы! И чувак за Лорда пилит нехило!

  • It's great!

I think Gillan sill sings right(of course not the same like in the 60s,but still brilliant)and the band sounds fantastic-especially the Glover-Morse pair!

  • Awesome solo at 6:10 to the end.

  • The begining kind of ruined the whole song for me...

  • Morse is a much better Teamplayer then Blackmore with better control of speed and original melody. The bluesy sound is also, for me, a better choice than good old Blackmore's.

  • Don isn't as good as Jon but I like him too!

  • Comment removed

  • Not the same without Jon Lord,

  • @sevenlemon and without ritchie

  • JON LORD is a legend

  • Deep Purple no matter which line-up is something I like to see at a concert. This is going to my favorites!

  • Perfect...

  • Anybody who thinks Morse is better than Ritchie is batshit.

  • John Lord Is King!!

  • steve morse just melted my face off

  • Don Airey Is AWSOMELY AWSOME

  • guitar epicly sucked

  • Ian really gives the high notes a go, good on him

  • That shit sounds LOUD!

  • Holy Mother of God is Morse great. Better than elf Blackmore

  • i like morse as a solo artist , but he is not in the style of deep purple. too heavy.

  • Bring Richie Blackmore Back.........! Without Blackmore Deep Purple SUCKS!!!!!

  • GUENISIMOOOOOOOOOOOOO...

  • I saw dp Live !!! is my favorite band but morse sometimes destroy the classic purple songs

  • want a hammond NOW! plz gimme one!!!!!!

  • Hammond Rules!!!!!!!!!!

  • only bonham is as good as paice

  • Ahh.... Damn, Don Airey always makes me wanna be an owner of a Hammond or at least a Nord Electro 3. Wish I could play like that and create something like that solo..... Hopefully one day! x)

  • Ian Paice king of the drums !!

  • It looks like a big party with Purple.Does'nt get any better than this.

  • 3:44

    Best Hammond Solo EVER!

  • Deep Purple is the band

  • man i wish they stopped, unless richie blackmore returns

he and the keyboard were the MAGIC!

  • Truth: No more Blackmore nor Lord. But hay, we got Steve and Don. Steve ain't Blackmore, but Steve is darn good, very different play style, but darn good. Airey is also fantastic piano player. I completely disagree with bloodforgodz comment.

  • Yes come on. These guys are good enough in what they do and good enough by having their own thing. IMO they bring enough new ideas in the table.

  • The organ player is the best guy in the whole band

  • Paice rules supreme!

  • SMOKIN!

  • lamejor banda de rock lo vuelbe a hacer

  • Estoy de acuerdo contigo!

  • Airey! dobra robota :D

  • His Engl stack :)

  • How does Steve Morse make his axe sound like that?

my guess is a pedal. But i don't see any pedals near him.

  • @MovieguruThe 2:38 look at the pedalboard to his left, too much to go into in this space. Of course he doesnt use all at the same time and some procesing is further used at FOH by the engineer

  • @Obelisk2290

Don't forget the enormous custom designed ENGL tube head.. That's the main thing.

  • @m0joGriffin he is the only engl user that does not have it set to death metal stun thogh i know blackmore has one

  • Fantastic performance! This band still got it!

  • They replaced him 3 times? They couldnt ever replace Blackmore. I am a True Fan. Its no Wonder why they have been thru 3 guitar players. 47 years old, I grew up on Deep Purple.

  • 2:01-2:03

Roger Glover is THAT good of a bass player, to be doin' slides like that! SICK! ROCK ON DEEP PURPLE!

  • you got nothin

  • your 14, you know nothing about it

  • Well, Blackmore has been replaced 3 times in the past allready, and the band and their true fans have still survived with success.

  • they certainly suck.....how many song they do from the steve morse albums???? .....they are still living from the blackmore era......check out the MKIII and MKIV eras they did almost just burn stormbringer and cttb songs....because they had enough tunes to fill a concert.....with MKVII and MKVIII they just got shittttt

  • Wake up man, we're not in 1976 anymore...

They do the old stuff because many people that never had the opportunity to see them on stage want to hear the legend of the 70's. It's like the stones not playing Satisfaction or AC/DC not playing Highway to Hell. Morse is one hell of a guitar player and the Mark VII & VIII albums are far better than the shit they did with Ritchie in 90s.

  • look they have to do smoke on the water, highway star and lazy.any MK have to do that songs.just like ACDC have to do highway or STONES have to do satisfaction.MKIII and MIV did them beacuse they had to.but with morse they don´t bring anything new just old tunes.and BATTLE RAGES ON kicks every morse´s album asssss.for sure..and it´s the most stupid reason to do old tunes because the audience never saw them.they Still have to do something new...SMOKE , HIGHWAY , LAZY plus NEW STUFF

  • I saw AC/DC this summer and they're doing exactly the same: a couple of songs from Black Ice and all their classics. It's what the people want to hear, going wild with each classic tune. These bands have so many classics that there's little place for new stuff. These guys are all around 65 years old and know too well their glory is way behind them. Ian told once that 80% of his income with DP came from touring. Anyway, music remains a subjective matter and I find the Morse albums pretty good...

  • i think you have a good point there , but the driving force of the purple were LORD and BLACKMORE ...and they would always be, and that´s my real point...and now without them it´s just a joke.....it´s true what you say about ACDC , but the driving force is the YOUNG brothers, and they are still in the band, those are their songs....i´ve no problem with gillan doing purple songs, but not on the FAKE PURPLE that they are now...and if they are oing it for the money...it´s a shame

  • Nonsense! Deep Purple still kicks ass!

  • These guys are fucking good ...

  • Don Airey is a FREEKIN BEAST!

  • He is no Lord, but he is still the GREAT Don. Fantastic performance from the whole band. 5 stars!

  • Don Airey does an implamantation of the recording of the song in the beginning on 0:39-0:54

  • Okay Everybody - Let's calm down - There is nobody like Ritchie Blackmore and there never will be - Steve Morse is one of the World's best guitarist - I've met the guy a few times and he is also a good natured and generous person

There was something magical about Ritchie playing with Purple that will never and can never be duplicated - The same with Jon Lord The master keys man

With Steve and Don they continue to compose and perform great hard rock Long live Deep Purple!

  • who is the man at the hammond??

  • Don Airey

  • to johnzdrum, you said it almost perfectly. i have met them all over the years. all the members are gracios and non-egotistical. each phase of Purple has always been great in its own way

  • Comment removed

  • well said m8.

  • Does anyone elst get the feeling that Steve Morse plays this by rote fro wnat of a better word.

Where as Blackmore played it by 'feel' and with emotion

  • This guitarist doesn't know what is the "blues".

  • its not the same without blackmoore and john lord.

  • Or Gillan's old voice.

  • is it just me or is Glover way too distorted

  • Don Airey is amazing, perhaps the ONLY keyboardplayer in the world that could possibly replace Jon, which of course was a sad loss for the band, but Don does one hell of a job, and I'm glad he is a part of Deep Purple. He is a legend, not in the league as Jon, but not far behind.

  • I like the fact that Don incorporates parts from the original song.

  • masterpiece of music

  • Paicey is a legend.

  • "Paice", but you're right!!

  • Great song.Like this version,Is Ian Paice pregnant?

  • LOL

    I think he's just... old...

  • Mean organ intro ! This song kicks ass, and is (sadly) too much underrated !

  • laaaaaaaazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • dus anyone know a good site to get the keyboard intro???????? plz

  • right

  • It obviously is, you just watched a video of Deep Purple without them....nearly 8 minutes of your life wasted. Sad that you're so narrowminded, but you're a Blackmore purist, and they are assholes anyway, so you're forgiven...NOT. haha!

  • Edit: please don't be disrespectful or don't post.

  • please don't be respectful or don't post.

  • sorry

  • jorge018 - you poor, poor bastard - you haven't got a clue.

  • Ritchie Blackmore lost his talent after he hooked up with Candice Night, that is a common fact. Now he runs around with a curly black wig, tights and playing rubbish. At least Steve is rockin'! Stuff that in your pipe....oh wait, that's obviously difficult, as you have your head up Blackie's ass.

  • Thing is that if it wasnt for the stuff Blackmore now chooses to play, there would be no rock music

  • I don't understand why Airey doesn't use a overdriven organ like Jon Lord used to.

  • He uses pretty much the same sound which Jon Lord used between 1985-2002. Are you familiar with that period?

  • My most favorite song of all time!!!

  • its fuckin' good!!!!!!!

  • Underrated song, but so DEEP,so complete, I like it. That's a great Ian's performance.

  • Very good organ intro, but if Don stopped the leslie, will better.

  • someone maybe know the hammond organ settings in this song??

  • ear?

  • io l ho visto dal vivo. è un grandissimo tastierista degno dei deep purple ma Jon Lord è insostituibile xkè il suo modo di suonare ha caratterizzato i Deep Purple. L' unico alla pari è Keith Emerson.

  • please, someone can put the lyrics. just the part when he finishes the harmonica playing

the part when he say. "around my door"..please!

  • Airey is great, but not as great as the Lord

  • no no...i dont like Don Airey...Jon Lord è migliore...è lui il simbolo dei deep purple!! Jon Lord The Best!!

  • Agree

  • è vero, ma se la cava anche lui

  • Morse simply failed to capture the spirit of the song. Just compare every version with Blackmore playing to this one... Lazy is in my opinion the best Deep Purple song, this version doesn't honors it at all

  • Deep Purple comes into my hometown in fall with Nazareth tickets are 50EUR it this so good? :D

  • The Lord (lol) quited in 2002

  • i love lord:D

  • lord have quit. Don Airey plays here....

  • MORSE IS MIGHT!!!

  • "VictimofAtkins" your the one with the thumbs down so quit your nonsense about. I bet you have no clue what its like to be on stage and have fun just like steve brings to all the fans that have respect for every guitarist and music, and look at you.... i bet your just here on youtube to bitch about your opinion and start arguments, your what i call pathetic and I'm Just Going To Ignore You Cause I Don't Need You Crap Kid.

  • your pathetic look at you! lol pffft, can you play good music like this? i don't think so cause you would not have the soul to enjoy music and have fun, your what i call pathetic....

  • Think Before You Speak Please.

  • What's the name of the song played at 1:15??

  • The original intro to Lazy

  • very good! go deep purple!

  • Haha, I thought the guy at the beginning was high at first

  • excelente solo de teclado para no se del maestro Jhon Lord

excelente banda unos clasico de clasico Vigntes hasta hoy.

  • Classic. No words to describe this masterpiece.

  • Happy holidays to everybody, especially this Deep Purple band members. They are the best in the whole universe...

  • Ya know, if you were in a band - you personally - and tried following deep purple onstage - you'd probably discover that they are masters of their trade. Period. There is no 'following this act'. They are what they are, try enjoying, and not comparing...Just a thought.

  • what makes you think that Blackmore created this tune?

  • steve morse is an incredible guitar player ..but he isn't the guy who created this tune ... i'd like to see blackmore
