  • you made 9.10 look fucking ugly

  • they should use gsplash... it would be better to see some icons as they load just like in 5.10....

  • Just wait till Oct 25th, the actual release will be available.

  • you are right the latest alpha upgrades (pre alpha-6) has got real issues. Check ubuntu forums

  • Yeah but Ubuntu will work out the bugs as they always do! All we need is a little patience during the beta testing period.

  • how did you get this?

i want it because linux rules

  • i just upgraded to the alpha version of upcoming ubuntu .. Its not recommended though.

  • wat laptop/desktop do you use, i mean system specs, and does it run well

because i formatted ubuntu off my drive, got crowded

i want 9.10 though, sounds nteresting

  • PPL pleaze consider that the Ubuntu artwork is at a very early stage !

This is just a way to proof that booting on top of X works, nothing final....

  • I agree people are just jumping the gun as far as the gui is concerned. Since Ubuntu is taking a serious look at first visual impressions that they will come up with something in the final stages of development that will appeal to the majority of Ubuntu users. As for the brown, it is a trademark visual and I don't expect it to go anytime soon.

  • for fucks sake,i thought they would get rid of that fucking brown color .... god i hate that color after 3 years of using it ..

  • I know right.... I want something nice looking and fun.... haha everybody is saying that.

  • yu can customize it like crazy so you can get rid of that fucking brown color> i hate it too

but i made one user ubuntu

    one mac oos x

    and one windows se7en

    its pretty awesome

  • well it seems if you know how to change it i.e. play with xsplash then yes you can change the ugly brown background and get your own animated throbber or animation. try

xsplash --help on the terminal and you'll understand what i am talking about

  • i was talking about 9.04 i changed the themes, gnomenu, the boot sceen and the logon screen, but i formated ubuntu because it took up too much space
