    DF

  • Dude, I have to tell you, you are every bit as amazing as all the greats that we are so used to hearing about. You could stand next to the likes of Satriani and Andy Timmons and probably teach them something.

And you've helped me alot. I've been somewhat bored with guitar lately, I can't seem to find anything that really engages me emotionally anymore, and I found it now!! Thanks!

  • This is just the real beauty! Love it! Emotional playing, without unnecessary technical shows... I got to have Your CD RICK!!!! Greetings from Polish Fan!!! Merry Christmass and the best New Year wishes!

  • This is one of the best instrumental guitar tracks I have ever heard, and a few of the others are by Rick ;)

  • what happened to the short version you did of this song with the flaxwood? I loved that!

  • i saw a video with you at the age of 19...you are amazing guitar player and you have unique style and sound...i like very much your feeling when you play.U ROCK!!!

  • What pedal or effect did you use for 3:37 onward?

  • @hospitalhunting It's just his guitar track playing unison with a keyboard

  • riff starting 3:37 :O and from there onwards its epic! Overall a great song!!

  • I love this. Awesome stuff and you're definitely one of my favorite guitarists.

Everytime I look at you I just see Adrian Paul from the Highlander TV series tho. (Yea, I'm a geek)

  • Icredible man :) always inspiring.

  • this is 100% upto the same level like Satriani/Vai/Timmons/Johnson - if not better ! Big tonnage of feel !

  • amazing

  • Ah... damn you... you made me cry.

I would give mi left toe to have (or for having... I don´t know... I´m spanish sorry) your left hand :-) congratullations.

    wilton

  • thinking about a suhr i have two caparisons atm, worth the trade ya think?

  • O My God tone for days!!!!! Incredible playing!

  • wat effect r u using at 3 45? it sounds trippy

  • @oozi4u

Digitech whammy, or a pedal which does the same exact thing. It's blending his original signal and a pitch shifted signal, most likely an octave. It might just be me, but I can hear a synth-ish effect on the effect as well... as for that, I haven't a clue :)

  • @MrFoxyFoxy59 Pretty sure it's just a synth track he's playing in unison with

  • Great phrasing and tone!

  • Ouah ! =') Amazing !!

  • where can I get the backing track for this song?

  • Rick is The MAN.

  • the 11 people who dislike this dont have a clue what good music is

  • what amp are you using ?

    Great playing

  • I freaking love this tune Rick, fantastic playing.

  • this is totally mindblowing!

Amazing, LOVE the tone out of your guitar. ME LIKE!

    - Adrian, bassist

  • ...wow

  • very impressive video Mr. Graham, these phrases are very tasty!

i think if you buzzed your hair to 1/2" you'd look like the marine from the original doom games xD

im guessing you liked the suhrs better than the vigiers at your NAMM experience(s)?

  • the video response has no place near this video

  • FULL MELODIC CONTROL !!!

  • This is a like a medley of all my favourite solo electric styles, with a great sense of melody and feel. Beautiful stuff :)

  • The riff at 2:28 looks so effortless, and it sounds so good.

  • sounds a lot like vinnie moore and andy timmons, great song.

  • wow... I want that wall LOL

  • This is fantastic. Really perfect job

  • how DO you get this good? you must eat sleep and shit guitars. bloody brilliant.

  • hey nice playing and great sound. what other guitars had you considered before settling on Suhr?

  • @flowerdrop1 Well, he's endorsed by Flaxwood.

  • I really like the part between 1:10 and 1:24.

    Sounds really awesome. =D

  • good music, instrumental will always be my choice over music with lyrics

  • Congratulations, great playing and great tone!

    Impresive guitar!

    Regards

  • Great playing and great tone. The tune melody and harmony reminded me of the style of early Frank Gambale which is fantastic.

Do you think the Suhr aldridge would work in a basswood Ibanez RG. I put it together from various ebay bits and it feels almost as nice as the Jem I had so is worth putting some decent pickups in. Was thinking of the Suhr Aldrich or EVH Frankenstein. Neither are cheap!!

  • Thanks a ton everyone!!!

  • @starlinginspector keep on the good work. can't wait to see what you are preparing for us. take care

  • @starlinginspector tnx to create amazing music..

  • When Is your album out?? I Really love this track!!!

  • I'm working on it now ;-)

  • @starlinginspector cool song man. My run off father is named rick graham, you wouldnt happen to be him? :D

  • Man I really dig this tune. Touches on satch without stepping on his toes... but its not "trying too hard" like a lot of instrumentalists these days. GOOD! is your album out yet?

  • at 4:25 are you picking and finger picking that with your middle finger too? that is so creative! I've never heard anything like it

  • @RockGuitarist07 It's called hybrid picking. All classical players do it, and a lot of fusion players do it as well.

  • ya tenemos publicidad hasta en youtube...

  • Rick, what pedals or effects are you using on this track. Amazing tones. Beautiful music played effortlessly. You are my No.1 guitarist at the moment. Can't wait for the album!

  • very nice bro keep it up :)

  • I dig the nuance and attention to detail in execution of lines. Your playing is top notch.

  • @aaronbergAPB yes his attack and knowing WHEN to burn is great, nice playing Rick.

  • Stunning stuff Rick.

  • Excellent playing as usual Rick.

I cant think of anybody who has better feel and melodic awareness than you.

  • what pickups?

  • suhr Aldrich

  • @starlinginspector oh amazing pickups dude... they have a lot of sustain do they make them in single coil size?

  • @starlinginspector Hey Rick, do you have any progressive black people in your family? We might be related. This is some of the classiest, tastiest, playing this side of Jeff Beck.I think my friend Allan Holdsworth would agree.I mean, your a freakin' inspiration on a level not many reach. Keep up the phenomenal work & let me know when your in the New York area.Thanx.

  • rick you are very good.. emotionally powerful

  • Very satriani!

  • Rick...Is starling Inspector a refrance from Faulty Towers? I'm almost certain it is.

  • YES YES YES!

  • Insane playing as always, and who the hell is that? Doesn't look like the old Rick at all, much more fit! XD

  • i see you have lost weight rick :) congrats

    incredible playing :)

  • hey rick, big fan, are you endorsed by suhr?

  • Hey Rick,

Will you post here when the CD is out and where to get it from? Great sounds from the Suhr!!!

Very inspiring! And the guitar looks nice :)

  • excellent playing my frind...I'm ordering a SUHR Guthrie model guitar very soon.

  • Amazing!

  • I'm amazed of your performance as a guitar player, of the great color notes of your songs and of course, the great tone that you've reached with your guitar. It's a pleasure to listen to you playing. Sorry for my bad english. regards from Mexico.

  • I totally agree with you about Rick. I love his tone and his note choice. And as for your english, it is very good :)

  • I consider myself a pretty good guitar player. I consider Rick one of the best that I have ever heard, period! EOS! Van Halen, Satriani, Vai, Macalpine, Malmsteen...he's up there with the best of 'em

  • Incredible Guitar!

    I love Suhr!

    greetings from tim, holland.

  • nice to see such a talented guitarist responding to comments, great playing my friend, nice phrasing, really letting you're amazing suhr scream

  • ur one of the most brilliant players i've ever heard. may i ask if you could check out some of my vidsand if you would comment it would be an honor. Also what appeals you about the suhr. might get one myself

  • That was some great playing! Tone is killer. I have one on order - very inspired to get it!

  • I was also wondering... What strings do you use? You have so much control over bends and vibrato, although I'm sure most of that is your fingers, just wondering if you could recommend a specific size and brand.

  • Thanks man! I don't use a specific brand. I do use 10's though.

  • Out of any guitarist, including Gilbert, Vai, Satriani and maybe even Govan or Lane, I would love to be able to play like you or even have lessons.

Some of the best playing melodically and phraseologically I have heard.

  • Thanks for all of your fantastic comments guys, very much appreciated!

  • Rick - your playing is inspirational. Every once in a while I stumble upon a great instrumental guitarist - thank you for all the great videos, from Lethbridge Canada.

P.S. > Pardon me if I missed a post on it, what amplification/pedals?

  • @bluedream0808 I'm using a Pod Xt live for this. Thanks man!

  • @starlinginspector Wow, phenomenal tone through a POD, it really breathes somehow. I suppose that's Suhr for you.

Nice playing. Reminded me a little of Vinnie Moore's Rain in a good way. :)

  • Just Awesome! :O

  • Rick- Love your phrasing!!! Some of the best I have heard. Question about the Suhr... what bridge do you have on this guitar. And why this over the Floyd Rose? Just curious. I'm looking to order one soon. Thanks !!!

  • @htones22 - It's a Gotoh 510TS-FE1. I can't stand Floyd rose/ locking sytems personally. Thanks man!!

  • @starlinginspector sorry, one last question then I will let you return to amazing all of us with your talent.... what pickups are you using with this guitar. Happy New Year !

  • 3:37-3:54 Petrucci :-)

    Great Song and feeling..

  • Gran guitarrista.

    Saludos.

  • Beautiful peace played on a gorgeous guitar by an amazing player =)

  • i don't mean to post a comment thats a bit irrelevant to the guitaring, but rick dude you have lost so much weight!

on top of that, you're incredible. i think the only other word aside incredible to describe this would be godlike.

  • You're playing is awesome. As well as your tone, I would absolutely love to know what you were running this through, if there's any way you could let me know. ;)

  • Killer playing, bitchin' guitar, and real easy listening music.

    Good job man.

  • Very nice! I really enjoyed that and I especially dig your phrasing.

  • You mind letting me know, what are you running this through, it sounds incredible.
