A bit weird, but a great game nonetheless - and very hard to beat! I managed to get to the castle back in the day, but failed to finish the game. I should brush off the dust and fire it up again sometime. If you haven't tried it, please do!

I loved this game as a kid. The music in it was fucking epic...better than a lot of music you hear in even the current video games. I wouldn't be surprised if Assassin's Creed got inspiration from this game.

The only thing I hated about NES games is that you had to LEAVE to power on or stay up all night to finish a game because they didn't have a SAVE feature on the early consoles. Genesis was just as bad.

I had an NES when I was really young.

i gave it away to my older cousin when the Playstation came out (I was younger than 6)

I recently got a PSP and modded it with Emulators. This is one of the games I had back then. I loved it but didn't remember much.

I went through the entire list of every NES game ever made til I got to this game.

You can guess by the fact that this begins with a W that it took quite a while.

I think it was worth it.

PSP NES emulator, here I come.

Short answer: I have no idea; Long answer: This game was developed by Rare who are now owned by Microsoft, but the game was published by Acclaim, so they could also be the owners of the W&W IP (intellectual property), but when Acclaim went bankrupt in 2005, everything they own (including even their trademark on the name "Acclaim") was sold at auction, so god only knows who actually owns the rights to this game. If it is Microsoft, however, it'll never be on any Nintendo VC.

1:30 and 3:08 inside the tree, that tune has one of the most melancholic yet calming short melodies, i've ever heard in my life. It's mesmerizing, i used to play it on the piano as a child, it just caught my ear the first time I heard it, and to this day still sticks with me. This game brings back alot of good memories, video games especially have great artistic value and an appreciation for music, they also provide for great reading, no kid should ever grow up with out a favorite Video game.

The electronic tunes and sound effects mesh so well together and even though the graphics aren't as spiffy as there now I still love playing the old games. I also remember some games had special codes or select que's so you could listen to the music of each level. Cool features like that are pretty much non existent now days.
