  • when i watched these guys at bbc radio 2 this year (2011) they were amazing, one of the best acts of the day.

  • Is this song now called 'Katie Price'?

  • what you rather watch - musicians or popular music?

Everyone on Jools has got talent

remeber that when you slag them off

  • Jools Holland generally has a load of rubbish on his show, but this lot are incredible.

As a long time, ardent fan of Oysterband, how could I not like another quirky, very English folk band??

  • Brillant

  • This lot really are the 21st century answer to Steelye Span, aren't they. Taking folk music to where it's never gone before. Hooray!

  • Not at all my cup of tea, but when I saw them last night at Jools Holland I was blown away.

    Genius.

This group should instantly rise to stardom.

  • which album is this off...its not off there new one don't thinks

  • @TheCottageConnection

    Burlesque me thinks ^^

  • @TheCottageConnection It's from their album 'Burlesque'.

  • Brilliant!

  • the most memorable band on 'Later...', ever.

  • They're playing the Beautiful Days Fest this year, can't freaking wait!

  • I only knew this song as a comical minstrel song sung by Uncle Dave Macon who got it from black faced minstrel musicians as "Jordan Am a Hard Road to Trabble." I have no idea where this text comes from.

  • Brilliant!!!!!

  • Their CD version of this amazing.

You know what - their CDs are amazing. Buy them, you won't regret it.

  • I saw em on this show and was blown away. Fantastic live band and so different to everything else in the music scene. Check out their live DVD. Brilliant.... and god bless Jools Holland. Where would the relatively new alternative bands be without him to showcase their talents.

  • @dhekelia133 yes here is another fan from last nights show cyril fox here in Dublin

  • got to love a bit of folk music!

  • Porra, adoro esse som!

  • Yeah it was amazing i was there too :D

I asked Boden at the end why they didn't play Jordan and he said they couldn't fit all the songs in and some had to be left out :/

Shame because it is one of my favorite songs along with dragon's teeth and trip to bucharest.

  • They didn't play Jordan at the junction in cambs either... even after two encores! They were fantastic live and I really want to go and see them again!!!

  • Yeah i got that feeling when i first saw them and its never gone away :D

Maybe they are giving Jordan a bit of a rest? It is one of the songs they usually did every date, a tours rest maybe?

  • I surprisingly like this song. It's quite weird because I'm usually into totally different music to this (e.g MCR, Aiden, Evanescence). Hmm.. ^__^

  • Ahh, Bellowhead. Seen them 3 times live- gotta love the BBC for having them play twice in one day!

    Genius.

  • A lot of time and effort into this arrangement - it works really well. Inspirational

    Incredible!

  • I know the guy who is making there DVD and had many sneaky peeks at it xD

  • love these guys :D

  • the presenter is jools holland duh! its the jools holland show!

i love this song plus london town, rigs of time, prickle eye bush and fire marengo!

  • Saw them on friday. He sounds like jools holland when he talks.

  • Awesome! These guys are setting the new stage for British folk music just like Fairport convention did in the 1960's.

  • English folk

  • A strange distinction to make - I've heard they're from Oxford which is in England & Britain :~)

Musically I don't hear a lot of bagpipes in purely English folk, so I'd class them as part of the wider modern British folk scene.

  • same here, but as of now i am yet to get any of their albums, but i want to

  • you can get them off their website (Y)

  • i know, i'm just waiting for a day when i can go get it.

I've never been sure about Rachael's vocals either but listening to the album today I've decided her stark discordant voice does work with his and with the songs

  • SPIERS AND BODEN I LOVE YOU!!!!! i love the way boden is blates pissed up!

  • Dude, you need to have a word with yourself as you are obviously batting for the wrong side. Saw these last night at Cambridge Folk Festival, they are the best band I've seen in years. Love the dude laying the dub bass lines on the tuba - awesome!

  • Saw Bellowhead at Spanfest - Kentwell last Friday night. Best band of the week-end.

  • buy it from where!!!

  • HMV! Amazon! EBAY! The choice is yours!

  • Saw them in concert last week, absolutely BRILLIANT, such energy

  • This would have been better if the BBC sound team were any good, dont do bellowhead justice they are the best folk band around IMO.

Would have liked it if the had done jack robinson or sloe gin or fire marengo instead of london town, not one of there best i think, still amzing simply cos its bellowhead.
