CF are from Switzerland & were heavily influenced by Motorhead & Venom. All European bands that likely drew very little if any influence from American Punk bands. I dig Bad Brains but I think you're wrong in this particular case. Aside from location being an issue & these bands getting little if any attention outside of there local areas, Motorhead predate any hardcore punk band anyway. Now the original Bay Area Thrash Scene & E. Coast bands like Anthrax? I totally agree with you.

@dmb912002 yeah, but it wouldn't have happened then, with the specific people, metal might have taken an extreme polka influence and then every band might play fast, but with sousaphone instead of bass, which i don't think would be a particularly bad thing... i do agree it would've got faster without punk, but you'd have to take everything back to early judas priest to work out what'd happen next since nothing after them didn't have some sort of punk influence
