Your all full of shit! people care more for their cars then their homes! People here are not united that's why you no one giving back but taking it and leaving further east! Wake up! Clean your homes and your streets!
People don't build community..... Community builds people! As is painted on a mural in Estrada Courts Housing Projects in Boyle Heights "We Are Not A Minority". We are a representation of Honor, Integrity, Respect and Family. We are your Neighbors, Friends, Co-Workers, Dr.s, Lawyers,Teachers.........and we will never forget what our "Barrio" gave us!;)
To understand East L.A., you have to have lived there. I grew up there. I now live in Texas, but what is City Terrace and all of East L.A. will always be my home.... And I am very proud of it!
Very well put put together. I agree, many outsiders who have never experienced a barrio lifestyle have misconceptions about the abilities and intelligence of the many individuals who come from a "minority" community. As well as the unity among us. I've experienced misjudgment of character, merely because of my upbringing in a barrio. Growing up in Boyle Heights has empowered me & strengthened my character (as it has to many other individuals with similar backgrounds.) Thank you for sharing,
