@BELLOBLOCK Honestly, I have not used anything other than class 6. But keep in miond that I do a lot of photgraphy and Class 6 is vital for DSLRs. I have seen SD cards that seem to be built specifically for video and most of them are class 4.
how is the hd quality of this camera. I cant really tell on youtube. also do think this camera is better than the flip and zi8? does it record in 1080i or 1080 p 60fps? I ordered one and i am hoping its worth the 300$. any info appreciated. thanks for info
is this camera worth it? the hd does not look that great on youtube. I seen a video on vimeo which looks better. maybe its the way yt compresses the video. do you think this camera is better than the flip or zi8? and does this record 1080p or 1080i and 60fps? Thanks for info!
I have the Kodak Zi6, I was quite happy with it but I felt limited. The Zi8 is not a bad choice. The larger CMOS sensor can produce better quality video and they finally added image stabilization.
Unfortunately, the Zi8 does not have optical zoom. Utilizing the Digital Zoom will compromise the video quality significantly. The fixed lens at f/2.8 on the Zi8 is also limiting to me. The VPC-CS1 can record in 1080p 60fps. For the price I paid I am very happy I got it.
No it does not have a remote. I tried looking for accessories for it but there are none so far except for the battery (which is backwards compatible with older models).

what size card is sufficient?im just gonna use it for bloggin
i was gonna get the bloggie cm5 till i came across this
how is stabilization in zoom?
BELLOBLOCK 1 year ago
@BELLOBLOCK Easy answer. The Battery itself is good for 70 minutes. An 8GB SD card is good for an hour's worth of video at the highest quality.
Image stabilization is challenging at full zoom. But that is no different from any other camera I have run across.

@BELLOBLOCK You do not need class 6, class 4 is sufficent. I reccomend getting 8GB+ though for this camera.

@djwilliamsonline
I have a Zi6 and quality is only a bit better. To me it is all about the features. Optical Zoom is important to me and the Audio is MUCH better.
If you want to compare, look at my Presidents of USA concert videos and my "Bird Sitter" videos. They were shot with the Kodak Zi6.

Hello,
Is the stabilizer good ? I own the hd1000 and it's a real issue on that camera.
houbahop 1 year ago
Honestly I have nothing to compare it to. But I would say that in full zoom, it has not been much help.

thanks for the video !
I am hesitating between CS1 and HD2000
Is CS1 full hd ? 1080p ??
mickaelqc 1 year ago
This does to 1080p The HD2000 has a much larger CMOS sensor and will most likely give you better quality video.
I have uploaded a video about 1080p recording with the CS1 that might be useful. Please visit my channel and look for my "issue with 1080p" video
