Question, i know in the army you get to choose your job but in the air force do you get to choose? I REALLY REALLY want to be an aerial gunner but i dont really want to get stuck in a differant job. If I was in the millitary I would want to use the AA12 automatic shotgun. They have special ammo for it that makes it act like a fully automatic miniature grenade launcher. Those grenade shells have impressive range considering its a shotgun fireing them.

I was an aerial combat gunner until I had both of my tesitcles shot off witth small arms fire. Now I'm the ball-less wonder at the local circus side-show. There are worse jobs I guess. All you asking about it jamming, the gattling gun works so that each barrel does another thing, it doesn't matter if a round failed to fire, it will just go through the system and another round will fire from the next barrel. (Thumbs up for Stover36)

For it to jam it would take a serious mechanical or electronical failure of the gattling itself.

Nope, they jam all the time. The jams occur in the feeder delinker. Any time the booster motor fails, you have a electrical faliure or the belt becomes bound up the belt stretches and the feeder delinker starts chewing up rounds.

I just thought it was funny how he appears to be completely missing the target, even though if you look closely he is hiting it, its just the stray rounds hitting the dirt are more visible.

There are two jobs in the AF that use the mini, both are on the HH-60 Pave Hawk. One is the FE and the other is Aerial Gunner.

It DOES NOT HAVE A SINGLE FIRE setting. This gun has two modes, one is low rate (2000 rounds per minute) and high rate (4000 RPM). There is a button that acts as the trigger. One is for the low and the other the high.

It is a 7.62 round and uses AC and DC power to operate all the guns systems.

That gun is perfectly save and clear and unable to fire in that state. In order to fire the gun you would need the housing cover / safing sector installed. Not to mention prior to handling the weapon your first step is to visually check each barrel to ensure there are no rounds in there.

Because the M134 Vulcan (minigun) is the smallest gun in the gatling family. Eg. the 20mm M61 vulcan is 188cm long , and the 30mm GAU-8 is 285cm long. The m134 has a 7,62mm round and is only 80cm long.

cnt exactly find out how long it takes 2 reload. and metalstorm doesnt use clips.

they insert ammo directly into the barrel, so its ammo capacity rly depends on how long the barrel is.

i think it would be a bitch 2 reload. could be solved if the have prefilled tubes. unless they use grenade rounds, then itll be a bitch 2 reload if u still want ur head attached.

but its mainly used as a turret neway,

so they'll have plently of time 2 reload while another one takes its place.

I think the ammo is past it's "use before" date and has to be disposed of. Think when the powder gets old, it starts to deteriorate and will self ignite if too old. So why not use it when you have to get rid of it anywho? ;)
