This is so true! I go to a school that has mostly asian or indian students so they don't know what a weave is. Because I'm mixed race, I do know what a weave is and how it looks, so it's easy to spot when a girl is wearing a weave. I feel as a black woman that I don't owe men any kind of explanation for my hair style choices. I am my own person dammit I'm not black men's property and I am not white men's property either. I am an individual and I am sick of everyone acting like black people are interchangeable abstract entities rather than real live flesh and blood human beings!

I am a Black woman and I don't like anyone touching my hair lol never had a weave in my life but I just don't like people and there dirty fingers running through my scalp. If you aren't a stylist doing my hair you have no business in my hair lol.

White women wear hair weaves too! Dont sleep. There is nothing wrong with a bit of help. Its only an issue when a woman fails to recognize her true beauty with out the added help. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL JUST THE WAY YOU ARE.

I don't have a weave and I don't like people playing with it. black hair in general (yes even naturals) is fragile and breaks if you play with it too much and sometimes if your hair's relaxed and its time to get it relaxed again if you mess with it, it doesn't fall back into place-- it stays like that XD
