  • Ok guys, I am really sad to say this to you but this video does not work. (The problem is the magic memory stick) If you really want to hack your psp please visit my channel. I am not saying that the method that WiiMasterDS is wrong I am just saying that the files you need to download for the magic memory stick aren't right!!!!

  • @TheManManolo i dunno what is wrong. its worked fine for me and many other people who have tried using the files say they work fine too. i think it is just your psp. the same problem happened on one of mine but i managed to get it working after a while

  • I tried again with new battery 100% charged and it still comes up with black screen and green light.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPLLLLLLLLEEEEAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEE HELP>>>>>

  • @TheManManolo i had this problem a couple of times, and I had no idea how I fixed it. As far as I know, after re-formatting the memory stick a couple of times and doing the whole process again, it just started working. if re-formatting doesn't work, then all i can suggest is to check the following things: Is the TOOL battery 100% charged? Did you charge the TOOL battery with a mains adapter (not a usb cable)? Is the magic memory stick in the PSP before you put the battery in?

  • i did this and all that comes up is just a black page. The green light is flasking.

  • @TheManManolo make sure that the tool battery is fully charged. it needs to be at, i think, 80% charge before you can use it

  • do you put the files with the tool battery in the psp

  • @TheManManolo the memory stick with the files on it must be in the psp first. you then insert the battery and that should make the psp start up automatically.

  • i what a tool battery can you get this in usa

  • unfortunately, it seems that you cannot buy a datel tool battery anymore from the US codejunkies website or US Amazon.

i suggest looking for other tool batteries for the psp. they will all work the same way.

you can also turn your own psp battery into a tool battery but i dont know how to do this.

  • thanx

  • okay WiiMasterDS i made a vid about my messed up datel tool battery it will show u wots wrong with it its called

    messed up datel tool battery

  • so this works on any version of the psp? even 5.51?

  • as far as i know, it works on any psp firmware but only on the psp-1000 and psp-2000 models.

  • how u exit the tool battery mode do u just the tool battery out or will that brick it?

  • i would just turn the psp off then take the battery out.

  • is there a limit or a minimum size memory stcik needed for the magic memory stick? And once downgraded i assume you upgrade the psp to a custom firmware?

  • yes, the memory stick needs to be a memory stick pro duo. I recommend that you use a 2gb memory stick for this but i think 1gb will work. I'm not sure whether anything higher than 2gb works.

Once downgraded, I recommend that you upgrade to custom firmware although you can just stay at firmware 1.50 which also allows the running of homebrew.

  • once downgraded there isn't a limit on how big the memory stick can be? i'm thinking about getting a 16gb

  • i dont think so but i dont know for sure.

  • i did evrything u said but wen i put in the tool battery the screen is black evn w/ the memory stick

  • what size and type of memory stick do you have?

  • THANKS 5/5 NICE VIDEO

  • thx man....i owe you ;)

  • hi can you help me i put battery in psp then the power on but screen is black

  • is the magic memory stick you created already in the drive when you insert the battery?

  • no i not create magic memory stick

  • thats why then. you need to make the magic memory stick and and make sure that it is in the psp when you insert the battery. all that the tool battery does is boot to the memory stick drive of the psp instead of the psp's internal flash memory.

  • but my battery not work when i put on psp

  • are you wanting to downgrade your psp or are you trying to just use it normally?

  • will this work with ofw 5.03?

  • i've not tested it with 5.03 firmware but as long as your PSP is not a PSP-3000, then it should work fine

  • also the bricked psp says in its name pandora and has 1.50 firmware

  • another trick question what if your psp is bricked and your other battery is broken what then should i just try and charge the battery with slim the put it in fat ?

  • which battery are you saying is broken? the tool one or the standard one? if either one does not work, they will need to be replaced becuase either cannot do the same job as the other. if the psp is bricked, re-downgrading the psp should do the trick. the first time i tried downgrading my psp, it got bricked. so i re-downgraded and it worked fine.

  • can i play iso games on version 1.50?

    nice vid btw

  • i dont think so

  • when it downgrades and installs 1.50 is it original custom (1.50 firmware)

  • it is official sony firmware 1.50. its the only official firmware which allows running homebrew.

  • I Need big help i bought this recently and i bought the slim version since my psp is slime i've followed all your instructions apart from selecting slim mode when you get the chance. but when i take the batterly in and out again nothing happens. my psp is version 5.01 is it to late to downgrade. please help!

  • im sorry but i cant help you too much with this because i dont own a slim psp and have never tried this before. try downgrading it again.

  • I remember me and my friend was trying to get cfw.I buy a toll battery, and i follow this. And i Get cfw:) I am very tankhfull to WiiMasterDS. becouse if hi dosent have made this guide.Had i still have ofw. But now it fines easyer way to get cfw.

  • green light is on but the screen stay's black,

    what is the problem?

  • when does this happen? did it happen after you finsihed downgrading the psp with the battery?

  • no before it when i want to downgrade it.

  • that means it is bricked. you will need to downgrade it in order for it to work.

  • hey i did all the things u did it worked fine and when i restarted my psp a blue screen came up with diff lang. and i clciked O and now my psp is version 1.50 is that ok?

  • see my reply in part 1

  • im having problems when i take the tool battery out and put it back in it turns the light green but then nothing

  • hmm i donno u should ask the pro(WiimasterDS)

    one piece FTW!!!!

  • i have a problem with my psp.

when i turn it on the power light goes on for 5 sec then shuts off and i have it conneceted to the wall

Do i have a bricked psp and with this video will it unbrick it

  • it sounds like it is bricked. this video should be able to unbrick it.

  • its really expensive

  • its not that expensive, and its worth it if it safely downgrades your psp and can unbrick it as well

  • Does the Pandora backup your Network settings?

(By downgrading to 1.50 it will delete them)

  • i dont think so, no

  • Hmm so they will be deleted D:

  • yes

  • Oh well =P

Thanks for the awesome video dude!

    Really appreciate it =D

  • ok so how hard is it to go from 1.50 to real cutsom firmware like 4.something m33

  • my video on upgrading from 1.50 to 3.90 m33-2 shows how to do it

  • is 1.50 like cfw i though this was for cfw

  • no, 1.50 is official firmware but it doesnt lock out homebrew (if you install the kxploitpatcher) as does other firmware.

  • so basically there is like no security on it?

  • sort of, it just doesnt see homebrew as corrupt data

  • hi :)

i did all of this, i put the files on to mem. stick, and put the tool battery in, but the power light lit up for a few seconds, then just turned itself of ?? plz help!

  • did you charge the tool battery beforehand?

  • yes i did for like 2 hours but went out while charging :S do you recommend me charging again?tb :)

  • I have a PSP slim version 3.93, do I still have to choose the 1st option?

  • i havent done it on psp slim before but if i were you, i would use option 4 (the phat and slim downgrader). it will also upgrade your psp to 3.71 m33

  • damn it still wont work i tryed on 2gb card on the 1st option like the vid part 1 but it still turn on but noth plz help mee

  • are you using a psp slim or phat?

  • both -.- i tryed on 2

  • if you are using option 1, you should do it on psp phat. try downgrading the psp the same way in the video 2 more times. if it still doesnt go on, then i cant help you. sorry.

  • hey just wanted to ask you know the tool battery if your psp gets bricked again do you still need the files on the memorystick or not or shall i delete them

  • if your psp gets bricked again, you will need the files to re-downgrade. but you do not need the files for normal psp usage after you have downgraded.

  • You are indeed the man...... it works.

Two things that happened to me on a slim psp downgrading from ofw 3.95.

    1. the software only ran right on xp, vista was not formating correctly.

    2. I used the universal unbricker with 3.71 and when I removed and replaced the battery the screen stayed black..... when i hit X the wifi and card lights flashed so i left it till all lights went off. Slapped in the original sony battery and im sorted. Cheers.

  • Hi there. Once I place the pandora battery into my PSP, the Green light comes on but that's it.... no activity from the memory card and no other lights.

  • by the look of it, the battery works because it tries to read the memory stick but cannot read the data on the memory stick. what type of memory stick are you using?

  • he used a homemade battery.

  • i use a magic gate 4gb that i bough on dealextreme, when i though it was magic arledy -.- ty

  • i think that the maximum memory stick that the tool battery works with is 2gb memory stick pro duo. im not sure if 4gb works.

  • iam trying it right now, but is there any problem if i use the 4th option to install 3.71 m33? ty

btw i dont have cfw installed is there any problem?

  • there is no problem using option 4 but i havent tried it so dont expect it to be exactly like the way i showed in the video

  • I have followed your instructions to the T and when I get to this final stage, I remove the battery and place it back in (as instructed), however I do not get the menu screen. My screen remains black. Any ideas?

    THanks!

  • does your psp go on? (does any light on the psp light up when you insert the battery?)

  • you.. have annoying fingers, but..

these 2 vids are awesome, thanks

  • hi

mine shows a dead screen what i need

  • be more specific. when does it show a blank screen?

  • my psp turn on, the screen being black but with a little light on the screen

  • what type of memory stick are you using?

  • hey man, nice video. but can you use the datel battery multiple times?

  • you can use the tool battery as many times as you want

  • noo select number 4 the universal unbricker.

    it installs a custom firmware 3.72 m33

it's much better because u can update it to the next cfw which is 4.01 m33

  • hi there ive tried this and everything has gone ok so far except the, at the ending when i put the Pandora battery in, it turns on, but the screen is still blank....do you have any solutions?

  • can i chage the battery when psp is off

  • i dont know, i havent tried it

  • goodstuff

  • Really good vid matey am gona use this one, all the others are shite !!

    you are the shit !!

  • Dude you are the shit!!

  • Thank you so much, man. This worked out perfectly. I can't wait to enjoy my freshly downgraded PSP =)

    Thanks again, man.

  • was your tool battery in the psp, or was the normal battery in the psp, when you create the magic memory stick ??

and is it possible to create a magic memory stick with the normal battery ???

  • when i made the magic memory stick, the normal psp battery was in

  • i also tried to make an magic memory stick..but when it says:

"You are about to format your drive:.. All data will be lost. Do you want to continue?..."

on your video, this process takes 30 seconds, but on my computer less than 2 seconds,

    anything went wrong ???

  • if your memory stick is empty now, then nothing is wrong. if you were using a speedy computer or the memory stick was empty beforehand, then the formatting is quicker.

  • the memory stick was empty, because i have to format it, but you also did it, i hope nothing went wrong,

    and thanks for your answers

  • my psp is at 3.95 ofw will the tool battry steel downgrade it

  • it should do, yes

  • Thanks man everything worked perfectly your awesome!....Anyone who reads this comment and was helped by this guy and his videos should all subscribe to him ^_^

  • i have a question. once you have installed all the programs onto the memory stick do u have to keep them on...or can u format your stick again when u have successfully downgraded??

  • once you have successfully downgraded your psp, you can do whatever you like with your memory stick. you can keep it as it is if you wish to downgrade more psps or you can format it and use it for normal use

  • sweet...cheers mate

  • ok, now my psp is running at 3.71... how odd is that?? but now the pandoras battery creator will not run and the spannish file that is also in the game directory said that i had the incorect 150.psp root file.

  • sorry i meant 150.PBP file

  • are you using the correct downgrader? if you have a psp slim, i think you may need to choose the psp slim downgrader and not the one that i chose.

  • oh, but then i hit the x button and the lan and memory lights started to flash like crazy and still arent stopping, maybe its downgrading?

  • yeah, i got to the very last point where your psp was saying press x button to downgrade. I did everything like you said but when i turned on the psp no text came up and just had a blank, lit screen. (using a slim but that shouldn't have an effect on anything)

I am using the firmware 3.95 and i am not sure but i think that was why that happened to me since the downgrader was only rated for 3.71

  • mins still did not work

  • you lot if you didnt no option 1 makes it 1.5 version if you want custom firmware straight away pick option 4

  • Thank i have seen a lot of videos but your's is the best and more understandable

how long did it take to deliver your tool battery on amazon?

  • cant remember exactly. i think it took a few days (3-5 days)

  • after i have done it and made custom firmware.

if i format the magic memory stick to make it normal memory stick would the custom firmware go or stay

sorry didnt understand in video soz

  • once installed, you can format the memory stick and use it as a normal one without losing the custom firmware

  • Thank You M8

  • You are the best thanks a lot

  • EXELLENT

  • k when i put the battery back that menu do not comes out but i can see the screen on and when i press x it turn off but when i put the original baterry back and check the fireware it is the same fireware lzzzzzzzzz help

  • what type of memory stick are you using? is it a memory stick PRO duo and is it magicgate compatible?

  • hey very good video but im still having trouble hacking socom ftb2 i have the custom firmware 3.52 m33 and nite pr rev k and i used both correctly and did everything ur vid said but im having trouble. can you help me?

  • what is the problem that you are having?

  • i have everything working and nite pr is enabled but when i turn the cheats on they dont work. i have custom firmware 3.52 m33 and nite pr rev k and installed everything correctly but the hacks dont work. i turn them on and it either freezes my psp or doesnt work at all.

  • MY TOOL BATERY DONT FIT IN THE PSP... sorry for caps my you put batery in it and makes it a tool/...

  • Best tutorial on youtube. Good job + subscribed.

  • Thank you sooo much it worked. You are my hero :)

  • It just stays the green led but nothing when I turn it on. I have the memory stick in and i tried twice now please help me.

    Thanks!

  • two more questions: are you using a memory stick PRO duo (not regular duo) and does the PSP automatically go on when you insert the battery?

  • I am using a memory stick duo and the memory is only 128 MB :/. And when I insert a normal PSP battery it works fine. I think I might get a new memory stick. Unless if you think something diffrent.

  • that's it. it only works with a memory stick PRO duo (i think they are 256MB memory sticks or greater). they also need to be magicgate compatible.

  • Mmmk Thanks so much once I get this new memory stick Ill be ready.

  • Hey quick question I got the right data on my mem stick but when I put the battery in the PSP it doesnt start up on it self or even turn on :/.

  • did you charge up the tool battery beforehand?

  • It says 77% charge level. PLease help me :/

  • try creating the memory stick again. make sure you do everything exactly the same as in the video (unless you want to downgrade a slim psp)

  • i need help with i picked number 3 and i have a psp slime i have the battery tool for the psp slim so i need help!!!!!! plz reply !!!! am going to die if i dont no how to use it !!!!!!!!!!

  • i havent tried it before but i think the process is the same as shown in the video

  • hey wii master ds thanks for your help but i have just brought a slim psp as my fat one broke and i have brought a slim datel tool battery how do i make my psp into a custom firmware with a slim datel tool battery and a slim psp

  • in the total newbi easy installer, choose the slim downgrader instead of the one i chose. i think that everything else works the same way.

  • iT'S BETTER MAKING ONE WITH CUSTOM FIRMWARE, BUT THIS IS FOR OFW.

  • Hey man can you send me your theme

  • Does this tool basically make a pandora battery for you? I just bought one and I want to make sure that I got the right product. Thanks!

  • the tool battery IS a pandora battery

  • ive got a question if i buy this and buy a psp cause ive been wanting one for surfing the web and psptube and stuff when i downgrade to 1.5 will it update itself everytime i put in a new game and if so if i put custom firmware on will that stop it from updateing and still allow me to play thoes games?

  • once you downgrade it to 1.5, i recommend that you upgrade it to the latest custom firmware (i have a video showing how to do this). custom firmware is basically a hacked version of normal firmware which allows you to run homebrew and some other things.

if you leave it at 1.5, you will need to upgrade it because most umd games run on firmware that is higher than that. it will not update without your say so though.

  • but if i do upgrade the firmware to custom firmware i can still play new umds right??ohh and i was looking into somestuff on pandora boxes and stuff and with this do u need lummies or the 1.5 firmware or is everything u do the only things u have to do..ohh and i was wonder if ull still be able to go online with it if u have custom firmware online meaning like socom and twisted metal and shit lol sorry for all the q im just trying to decided if i want one or not

  • if you upgrade to custom firmware, you can still play new umds. you do not need anything else to do this because lumines is only required if you are downgrading your psp without a pandoras (tool) battery. i think that you can play online games alright with custom firmware. i have been able to connect to the internet fine but i havent tried an online game yet.

  • alright man thanks for the help im probly going to try and get a used one some time soon and put all kinds of emus on it and shit thanks man

  • do u know how to unbrick a psp ?

  • use this battery

  • do you need cfw

  • no, you dont need custom firmware for any part of this video.

  • mine goes fine then i press X and then it does nothing at all, just stays at the same place all night.... help!

  • do you mean that you insert the tool battery and press X and it does nothing?

  • do u get a custom firmware

  • you have to download it from the internet and install it on your psp

  • i was onto the last step where u press x to downgrade the psp but this came up :

    Extracting special prx's from pbp...

Error decrypting DATA.PSP - check UPDATE.PBP is a valid update EBOOT

    help??

o and bare in mind the psp was already bricked beforehand

  • try re-downloading the installer and staring the process from the beginning

  • this time it says

    the PBP file is corrupted

    anyidea wot this means?

  • im not sure then, sorry

  • what does circle do cos i pressed it by accident

  • when did you press it?

  • he pressed it in the last step where u had press x but instead he pressed circle... so yea wot does tht do ?

  • im not sure but i THINK it backs up the nand of the battery. i think this is when it records the serial number of the battery into a file on your memory stick. nothing happens to your psp when doing this.

  • does this work on any psp?

  • yes

  • First of all thanks for posting this video!

Say for example if you had a 4GB memory card, would you recommend using this as both the magic stick and the memory card you used for games/apps/etc or would you recommend getting another memory card to use as the magic stick?

    Thanks!
