  • I have an old nova I'm restoring, it has the original drums on it. If I soaked the brakes like you did and then put them back on would they work alright? Would I have to do anything to the brakes before I put them back on the car, or would they be alright straight from the rust remover solution?

  • man, those brakes look new!!!

  • @RacerE7773

They would be fine right from the solution

  • This acid product looks pretty good in the video for removing rust on metal surfaces. However, I'm pretty sure that one would have to apply a sealer (or an oil) to the "newly exposed to air metal surfaces" as soon as possible. Otherwise, the rust will return to the surfaces very quickly. You would probably also have to neutralize the acid on the metal surface before applying a primer to metal surfaces (in such cases as a car body) for a nice paint job to turn out.

  • miratic acid but it eats aluminum it does all that stuff great and it costs about $6 to the gallon can be found at a hardware store its also used to etch concrete

  • what did you use?

  • wow!

  • Is that just a cheap pond pump? I assume the metal has to be flooded continuously?

  • Safest Rust Remover. I bought some from him and have used it on everything. I've never seen another product that works so well. It's really mild stuff, but works like you wouldn't believe. I dumped every rusty tool I own into a bucket of this stuff and it came out without a trace of rust on any of it! The most impressive thing was how it worked on some old metal files I had. They work perfect now without the rust on them!

  • what did you use

  • did you have anyworries about the product getting on chrome or did it work there

  • Naval jelly?

  • where could i get this product??? looks great!!!

  • This stuff is called "Safest Rust Removal" and its no BS....it really works. They say its safe to get on you and dispose of down the drain and ground. I am restoring a 1965 Cadillac and are using it on bolts and brackets for the bumpers and its amazing. Cost is $25 a gallon so its a bit pricey but well worth it. Check it out! Ed

  • Fk yeah it works, look at it go!
