i agree with the poster who said this is the electronic equivalent to the doors the end, epic, brilliant, heart stopping. i heard this song when it first came out in 1996.
This track brings me straight to my early twenties. My room , books, study material for the exams , vinyls, cds, flyers for parties, music kicking....
For me personally not just my fave Underworld track,my fave all time track.Over 16 mins of a beautiful musical journey.Second Toughest in the infants what an album. When I first came across it I was struck with the question why isn't everyone else listening to this, sheer joy. This is just the opener 2nd track is another epic,Banstyle. No one quite like Underworld...D
@tyrz67 good points, I saw them 2 months ago in Australia but they didn't do this track but I did see them do it in 1999. So yes it is a journey, well said.
Every song are pages in a diary to me. This song is currently placed under the pages of mobility, hard tactics, and cumulative thinking (god bless college nights as I study hard with this thunderous composition pounding in my mind)
I wish Underworld would do more musical suites like these on their CD albums. They have tons of unreleased, kickass material sitting around that only need a little remixing here and there. Tokyo/Bamboo/Five ft. Five
As much as I agree with you about suites, I don't think they should mash together tracks that, to be honest, have their own destinies. And that mix wouldn't be reasonable: JAL To Tokyo was released on "Lovely Broken Thing" and 5 Foot 5 is a Darren Price track.
My four year old son called this song "Robot Music" when he was about two and a half. He always used to dance to it in the kitchen in the morning. Every morning he'd ask, "Put on Robot Muscit!"
Absolutely true, the best Underworld track ever! This trilogy song Juanita-Kiteless-To Dream of love is a true masterpiece, a brilliant timeless tune, pure sophistication...In a way, this song must be the nineties electronic equivalent to The Doors' The End...Just genius at work....
thats not born slippy in the baby scene its "dark and long" (dark train mix). Born slippy it's more at the end when Begbie goes crazy in the bar and then when Renton steals the money from their mates.

No way! Juanita? As in ... Snow Crash Juanita? I know Stephenson didn't invent the name, but considering the music genre...

No, that would be born slippy, wouldnt it?
zwtcrack 4 years ago
No, Born Slippy is featured in Train Spotting. You know the freaky "dead baby crawls under the ceiling" scene.
bayspasture 4 years ago
Not so. It's Dark and Long (Dark Train) in that scene. Born Slippy's at the end, from when Renton wakes up to steal the bag to the end credits.
thequicksilver 4 years ago
thats not born slippy in the baby scene its "dark and long" (dark train mix). Born slippy it's more at the end when Begbie goes crazy in the bar and then when Renton steals the money from their mates.
