It annoys me how no one's ever heard of this but everyone loves Step Up since it's essentially the same story. Only that Save the Last Dance is much better with a lot better music and casting. Julia Stiles is perfectly cast as a ballerina whilst Sean Patrick Thomas is perfect as an amateur hip-hopper. Their characters are realistic and their interactions with one another are realistic. The same cannot be said for Step Up which is essentially what High School Musical is for musicals. Makes me sad
