This was from back in the day when Dimmu was simply raw and pure talent; now with all this technology its like they don't care about the message anymore and it all sounds so fake. I have nothing against Vortex's vocals or Mustis' piece, but I mean, even their makeup changed drastically; specially Shagrath's; all of a sudden he's got go have a complex image. What started as a true complex message has now converted to simple poetry... it's sad what fame does to most bands, really.

Maybe its not (just) fame, maybe its just when bands ago pr people age for that matter, their look on the world changes, theyre not the rebels they were when they first started. This is just the evolution of your life what is beeing displayed in the songs. It becomes mor eand more about good compositions and less about "inner pain and anger".

Back in the day they didn't give a rats ass about their image; their earlier work as well as their earlier concerts is evidence of what I'm saying. Now, compare this video with a recent one & you'll see the difference.

On another note, I know what you're saying, that people & the world change, it's just that Dimmu Borgir changed for the worse instead of the better. Not much we can do except bitch & moan about it & hope that with Vortex's & Mustis' departure, Dimmu changes again, for the better.
