To anyone that likes Yuyuko and Touhou fan manga I would suggest you read Touhou Tonari. It's a fan manga that focuses and goes more indepth on Yuyuko and Yukari. A word of caution, if you have easy for tearing up and start crying then you might wanna be careful with it.

In PCB Yuyuko went to Yukari for help to weaken the Netheworld border to revive the girl under Saigyou Ayakasi. At this point, Yukari already knew the body bleong to human Yuyuko, yet she does not stop her. She just went "ok ill help you".

Perhaps she thought its time for Yuyuko to learn about her past? And what is a better to do that then reviving her own body?

So after trying to piece together the whole story behind Yukari, Yuyuko, and the Saigyou Ayakashi, is this explination right?

A talented poet traveled around Gensokyo. When he sensed his time was near, he looked for the most beautiful cherry tree to die under, which was this particular tree. After the poet's death, the tree grew even more beautiful and became more famous throughout the land.  Everyone started becoming enthralled by its beauty, but at the samed time drained of life. At this time (this video) Yuyuko and Yukari meet and become friends. Apperently, Yukari could tell what her power was. Yuyuko had just realized her power that she can manipulate death, which grew stronger and eventually she could invoke death. Terrified of what she could do, she took her own life (apperently underneath the Saigyou Ayakashi). As Yukari came to seal the tree, she found Yuyuko's body. Instead her body was used as a barrier set up by Yukari. (cont.)

This was because she knew of Yuyuko's pain and suffering over her power, she made it so that she could never be born again to suffer again like she did. Unable to move on (either because of suicide or the barrier) Yuyuko now exists as a ghost, but lost all of her memories from when she was alive. Youmu knew what happened, but as time progressed, since she is a half ghost/human, the memories faded as she grew older.

So, does that sound right? Explinations are needed for most like me right?

Yeah, but Yuyuko could not find any other way to seal the Saigyou Ayakashi than to use her body as it's seal.

Yuyuko regained her Memories in PCB in the final few moments of the battle between either Reimu or Marisa to deicide who kept the spring.

And all the while, Yukari was trying to bring back the good times they had with each other and their memories as dear friends all those years ago. And when it finally broke through, Yukari could finally sleep even longer!

It's not really apparent how much she remembers towards the end. She could just realize that bringing whoever is dead under the tree back to life was a bad idea.

I question Yukari deeply in this video though. She has more than the knowledge and capability to:

A) Seperate the borders of life and death, fitting especially for Yuyuko with her theme title, and return her life.

B) Destroy the border which was erected between her current consious and her old memories - the end of several PCB routes show that Yuyuko is capable of recalling things from her 'life'.

Gotta wonder a little. Maybe just finds it 'wrong' to mess with a true friend's destiny so.

Besides, this was a long, long time ago, yes Yukari may be wise and such now, but there's nothing saying that she was that powerful and such back then, and not everyone can make the best choices while in a very emotional state...=(
