  • Honestly? It's not *bad*, really, but it doesn't really say "Enterprise" to me. It seems to be somewhat of a throwback to the NX class (which if the series had continued, may have ended up refitted to come more in line with the rest of the Enterprise line) and the gaps don't really seem to serve any purpose other than "it looks cool".

  • I keep watching this. I really like the design. It does give a good impression of it being the next step after 1701.

  • If they do a new Star Trek series then I think they should have a gay person as one of the major characters. I think it would be interesting to see how gays would fit in Star Fleet.

  • @invisiblejaguar1 They would be eaten by the clones.

  • What clones, and why?

  • @invisiblejaguar1 didn't star wars have clones?

  • Star Wars? This is Star Trek.

  • Honestly, I know how hard it is to just design a new Star Trek model in general. But realizing it with a real 3d mesh model from scratch is amazing. This is the most beautiful federation ship I ever saw. This looks so professional. The best fanmade ever!

  • @jayvthompson01 I am honestly sorry for you. I hope the best for your personell development and hope you will find some friends soon.

  • @TaCoskun Thanks for removing the insulting comments of this racist jayvthompson01. Great Video! The best fanmade I have seen!

  • Aside from the many armaments this model would have been perfect for the series "Enterprise". It would look far more retro than the NX-01 which I always felt was more advanced looking than it should have been for that period. Empty space in the hull is a nice touch for things that are not currently built but a hint at the potential of what is yet to come. It would have been constructed with physical guard rails for protection in the NX-01 era because shields were not quite available yet.

  • @jayvthompson01 Poor you, I am curious what happened to you to became such an unsocial asshole.

  • This looks more like it has a Nebula Class heritage, rather than Galaxy Class

  • I agree with UserXer0 - I liked the previous ship just as much. The negative reactions are likely due to the lack in dimensional graphics detail. I'm a huge Trk fan from the first series and have always anticipated the new ship design that accompanies each series. It isn't easy to create something noticeably unique while maintaining the connection to it's roots. I'm composing a music score for the new movie that starts filming next month. Sadly they chose to reuse the Voyager design.

  • @ananominity That is so true!

You are composing a music for the new movie??? For the official movie? Really? Could you tell more about you?

  • cool ship. I'll be honest the other one you did is cool too, sorry so many people act like it wasn't good.

Still this one is cool as ice. nice scene too.

  • @UserXer0 Thank you sooo much! You made my day ;)

  • I like this version much better than the other. The other version seemed like it wouldn't have enough usable interior space.

  • @jones81381 Thanks! Yeah the other one was a try to make something completely different but still recognizable as a federation ship. Seems like the latter didn't work so well. The purpose of the design of the other one was to be able to provide windows for each deck, each room. The same reason why this new design has its outer ring.

  • Well, its not very "Enterprisey" but i like it

  • 1 romulan watched this

  • I like it, and it is still unique because it has the ring around the saucer section, something no other ship has. Your original was pretty good it just didn't look like anything the federation has.

  • Pretty good, comparatively. One thing, though. The enterprise should ALWAYS be registration 1701. Maybe 1701-F or 1701-G, but it'll pretty much always be 1701-something.

  • It looks like an upside-down Miranda class. but very cool.

  • I like your original design the best because it's so original. This one is good too. Both efforts are great!

  • @RobertVollrath Thanks I really appreciate that since most people do not see the individuality of the previous version. Considering my new model people say sometimes, that it is not individual enough ;). Anyway, thanks for your nice comments!

  • @TaCoskun i saw the terrrrible old video first, i applaud the effort, it clearly transitioned into something totally unique and i am glad to have seen. i absolutely approve of moving the nacelles to the "underside" of the ship however. great choice. add a phaser stip on the inner and outer rings, awesome firepower idea

  • @Denchanter357 ahhh was looking at the ship upside down. nacelles are still on top... lol

  • @Denchanter357 Ok now I understood your previous comment too, hehe.

  • Great work but the ship looks like a baby toy.

  • Wow. A little bit of Star Trek, a little bit of Andromeda, and a whole lotta cool. I am impressed.

  • That outer ring could defiently be used for more phasers. Luxury is overrated.

  • Those looked like Defiant-sized ships coming out of the shuttle bays, so I guess this ship is pretty damn big.

  • @AVClarke Hehe, well these defiant-like ships are smaller versions. Bigger than standard shuttles but smaller than the defiant. In my imagination the ship itself is approximately as big as voyager.

  • Not to put your hard work down too much but, honestly, it does not look all that amazing. Not in terms of quality or anything, no, I mean the actual design. And, also, it looks strangely familiar. I believe there have been several models of starships that at least look roughly like that.

Anyhow, well done anyhow. On putting in the effort. Shows dedication and love for something you obviously do indeed love, Star Trek. And I can respect that, I'm a fan as well.

  • what's the advantage of having an outer ring on the primary hull?

  • @Turdbuckethat Well the initial purporse of the ring was luxury for the crew. This way, it is possible to have more rooms with windows for the crew. Unfortunately, I have to admit, that I forgot that when I designed the textures. There should have been another window layer on the edges of the ring and of the main hull.

  • @TaCoskun Awesome design! Thank for that explanation.

  • @Turdbuckethat Thanks a lot! No, I didn't thought much about it and didn't want to change this model anymore, since I love it like is. Bu if I will do another animation with this ship in future, I will first do one of the following: a) Replace the current bridges with much more stronger bridges b) Introduce a "combat & flying in atmosphere" mode to the ship where those ring gets connected to main hull. Don't know yet. First I want to finish my tutorial.

  • @TaCoskun There is one concern I was thinking about though. Let's say hypothetically the ship was caught in an ion storm or some other phenomenon that could create vertical sheering forces and they somehow lost shields. It seems to me that if the sheering forces were strong enough the could break the ring right off the ship. Not trying to put down your design, I like it, but don't you think that might be a problem? Or do you have something in mind to compensate for that?

  • As our favourite Science officer would say: fascinating...

  • @babylon218 Wau, this made me proud, thanks!

  • @jackman1234567898765 Thanks a lot!

  • That was great... Amazing camera movements. The movements of the ship/s are great aswell :D

  • @bogieman987 Great! Thanks!
