because the judges are bad and biased. This guy has more talent and enthusiasm than any. life isnt fair. the ones with real talent get ignored. in life only very few people get what they deserve good or bad.
Turns out, after the whole upset and many interviews with the judges, that the judges had nothing to do with it. It was, in fact, the producer's decision. Essentially they didn't like that he wanted to write his own music and got rid of him before we could vote him to the final. They knew like we all knew that he was a top contender.
It left me with a deep hatred for AI, where the judges are figureheads, but the producers make the final cut. Those producers don't care what america thinks.

Let's just get it out there. He doesn't have the greatest voice, even when he's not sick. But if all you are doing is rating his voice, then you are missing the point. This kid's got the whole package at such a young age. He really does have that intangible "IT" factor. There's something about him that pulls you towards him. Maybe it's his passion. Maybe it's because he pours his soul into every song. Maybe it's because he appears vulnerable. Whatever it is, it works. And good for him.
i think its been made clear that he was ill during this performance. if you are not a singer/performer yourself, i assure you that you do not understand the toll that the stress of constant singing can take on your voice. i admire him for doing this show in the condition that he was in. have some respect please.
He has a very "planned chaos" to his voice and singing style. The one thing he really should be careful of though is pitch. Sometimes he goes well above the pitch he should be in. After seeing many of his performances it seems that at times he tries to focus TOO much on volume and that is when he tends to sing out of pitch. Some of the techniques (or lack thereof) that he uses in his songs though could also pose a danger to the longevity of his vocal cords. A good voice instructor could help

I think the judges on American Idol were totally right on letting him go with his version of "Stand By Me", it's really bad to me. He is a good singer, but not when he sings that cover.
not sure if it was on this video but someone made a comment about josiah needing a vocal coach to reach his real potential. im not buying that i think hes an incredible singer and the fact that hes not perfect shows that he is only human and the rawness you can hear in his voice makes it better not worse. its clear here he has strained his voice but its still amazing.

Andrew McMahon is the lead singer of Jack's Mannequin and Something Corporate. Nothing wrong with Josiah, I love him and Jack's Mannequin. But if you like Josiah, you'll probably like Jack's Mannequin. Just thought I'd clear things up.
"Over and Over" performed by Josiah Leming in this Indiana concert hall was nothing short of brilliant. He is very comfortable at the piano, spontaneous yet controlled, energetic yet hushed, he can do quite a bit with his songs, and allow multiple layers of emotions to be unleashed. He has a very gritty/touching/heartfelt voice that never fails to bring a smile to the face of his viewers/fans. He has really grown since American Idol and I hope his upcoming Warner Brothers debut is a smash!
This is my favorite version of this song he has. His lyrics change between the LA one, this one and the Dallas one. yeah, haha, this song is amazing. Probably my favorite of his songs. <33

not sure if it was on this video but someone made a comment about josiah needing a vocal coach to reach his real potential. im not buying that i think hes an incredible singer and the fact that hes not perfect shows that he is only human and the rawness you can hear in his voice makes it better not worse. its clear here he has strained his voice but its still amazing.

Andrew McMahon is the lead singer of Jack's Mannequin and Something Corporate. Nothing wrong with Josiah, I love him and Jack's Mannequin. But if you like Josiah, you'll probably like Jack's Mannequin. Just thought I'd clear things up.

"Over and Over" performed by Josiah Leming in this Indiana concert hall was nothing short of brilliant. He is very comfortable at the piano, spontaneous yet controlled, energetic yet hushed, he can do quite a bit with his songs, and allow multiple layers of emotions to be unleashed. He has a very gritty/touching/heartfelt voice that never fails to bring a smile to the face of his viewers/fans. He has really grown since American Idol and I hope his upcoming Warner Brothers debut is a smash!

This song is so beautiful. Very touching and emotional. Makes me cry when I hear it. I love Josiah's voice. I also like it when his voice gets all crackled I guess you could say. Really shows all of his voice and what it can do. I love his voice no matter what.
