Notice the sentence construction. What U have been taught is just the opposite of what scripture says.It does not say and all who believed were chosen,it say all who were chosen believed and Eph 1 it tells us that God chose His elect before time and according to HIS PURPOSE and the council of His own will.Read Rev 17:8 about the lost.

@madenew The Roman Catholic Church borrowed what the Greeks believed about their gods,they believed they had the free will to thumb their noses at Zeus and that they competed with their gods on many levels.That's one of the reasons why the Protestants separated themselves from a religion of men who attributed many things to God that He didn't say in scripture, false religion.God tells us that an unsaved man can only choose a false god to worship and that He chooses His own before time began..

Romans 8:7 For the mind that is set on the flesh(the unsaved mind) is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot.The unsaved man is unable to obey any of God's commands,so when God commands people to repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ,it is impossible according to scripture.This is why God must first cause our new Birth by imparting His spirit so we can believe.A baby only cries when it's been born,a man can only cry out to God once he's been born again.

@madenew000 I don't just believe this as my opinion,there are scriptures that back, every bit of what I said, up.God causes everything that comes to pass.From man's perspective He turns to Christ in belief,but when we see the behind the scenes,we see the verses that show us that God is causing all things to take place just as they are.God must first cause a man's new Birth before he can ever believe.Prov 16:4 The LORD has made everything for its own purpose, Even the wicked for the day of evil.

@CBALLEN So the wicked are not just men or angels that happened to turn out bad,God created certain men and angels just to be examples to the saved,God will show the saved what would have happened had God not saved them,and how awful our sin was.God shows us what Jesus had to endure when He could have stopped it at anytime,but for our sakes,He didn't.Hell is such an awful place that God died to keep His children out of there.We will see the lost cast in there with our own eyes and praise God.

@madenew000 Think man,did not God create people that He knew would go to Hell?Again,we can't have a doctrine on emotion or speculation when God Himself tells us how He chose who to save and He didn't do it by looking down through time to see who would choose Him,especially since He says NONE WOULD CHOOSE HIM.If God did not actively save people Himself,all would choose Hell.

@madenew000 Most people don't read the Bible,they here a few Biblical cliches and then theorize what they think the Bible really says without studying it and comparing scripture with scripture to test it's truthfulness.I guess the Bible is really the only book people do that to.Would a teacher let you do that to a reading assignment?You're told to read Hamlet,but you give a book report on BATMAN RETURNS,they'd laugh you out of class.

So when God said TO US: "Draw yourself ...(to Me, etc. etc....)" , did God mean that He will draw/drag/cause ourselve to come to Him?NO NO NO!!! WE CAUSE OURSELVES, WE DRAG OUSRLVES, WE PUT FORCE ON OURSLEVES, to move towards God! You see? God DID NOT say "I will draw you to Me"!! NO NO NO, hE SAID, "you draw yourself TO ME...." Sounds like FREEWILL to me, friend... thank you so much for supporting my argument!!

@madenew000 God loves His chosen people and these people were chosen by Him alone before the world was .We don't know who they are,however we are supposed to preach the word to all men,that Jesus died for sinners and all who believe upon Him for their salvation will be saved.Not all men will or are able to believe tho,only those with ears to hear and eyes to see,everyone who turns to Christ turn to Him because the Father GRANTED their belief,He does not grant this to all men who hear the Gospel.
