Czech was independent before ww1 when Tatra was founded. Czech was conjoined with slovakia after ww1, but remained capitalist until after ww2 when the Soviets "liberated" it.
But the Tatra was made in the 1950s during the Communist period. One doesnt have to exist within a 'capitalist' system to make something new, inventive and good.

It was based on the one they built during the 1930's. You can see how communism reduces the incentives to a make new, and inventive.

We have one Tatra, coloured blue, that is displayed at some of the summer car shows..
Most people who live in North America have no idea about this car .
