You won't find a bigger Neil Young fan than I and I've never been a big K.D. Lang fan but this will cause me to rethink that. She is absolutely amazing on this. I only came to this performance after listening to her perform an absolutely flawless duet of Crying with Roy Orbison, she is a special talent.

Son named Neil, tattoo's of his name on my arm, hundreds of bootlegs, can recite the entire Tonights the Night record from beginning to end without error....you get the idea. I listen and I listen to her and it is actually difficult to understand what exactly makes her voice so hauntingly beautiful. I need someone with a musical background to answer this one perhaps. She almost sounds like she's singing the harmony parts, but doing it as the lead. I hear lots of minor notes, but maybe that's just me. There is something very powerful that pulls you in much deeper than just a good singing voice. I could listen to this over and over again and that's not like me.

Compared (just for the sake of understanding) to say Mariah Carey, who may have a loud voice with range...but her control isn't a tenth of KD. Next, her genuine love of music and life, her control lets her put it forth. Its that simple.

My neighbor and I have been dancing in my kitchen to this song for well over a year now. We don't know why, but it is a beautiful song to dance to. It feels powerful.

She is AMAZING multiplied by 100. There isn't a word good enough to describe her voice. I'm a big Neil Young fan. I grew up with his music. He is truly an icon in music but I would love to have been in the room when he saw her perform HIS song. He must have been as amazed as WE all are. She not only sings it beautifully and with respect to the original song, she could easily make it HER own song. Her cover is quite a tribute to Mr. Young.

I listen and I listen to her and it is actually difficult to understand what exactly makes her voice so hauntingly beautiful. I need someone with a musical background to answer this one perhaps. She almost sounds like she's singing the harmony parts, but doing it as the lead. I hear lots of minor notes, but maybe that's just me. There is something very powerful that pulls you in much deeper than just a good singing voice. I could listen to this over and over again and that's not like me.

Compared (just for the sake of understanding) to say Mariah Carey, who may have a loud voice with range...but her control isn't a tenth of KD. Next, her genuine love of music and life, her control lets her put it forth. Its that simple.
