Developers need to balance between keeping the old fans and getting new ones. Nintendo is the master at this, they made New Super Mario Bros. Wii for the fans of the 2-D but made it attractive enough for new fans. Some developers need to focus in making good games for fans and newcomers and some fans need to accept the changes and maybe see that they aren't too bad.
Actually what CAPCOM and NT forgot is if they don't care about the fans they will end up having no copies of the game selled, or at least it will be a total failure...
I think they should learn from MS and 343i. What they did is actually just upgrade the graphichs, and add some new things to the original Combat Evolved, while listening to the fans of the game.

If they make a true Devil May Cry 5 (they being Capcom, or better yet Platinum Games) along side this new 'series' (even though I doubt they will make more then 1 game) I will be okay with it. The developers say Dante in DmC has angelic powers and an angelic stance (along with a Human and Demon stance), but never actually say he's half-angel.
The Siliconera headline says he's half-angel, half-demon *so that's where that rumor came from*; but the article itself doesn't really give any indication that he's officially "Little Nicky."

Some people don't understand that DMC (specifically 3) has a combat system with the complexity of one found in fighting games which is why IT MUST RUN AT 60 FPS. Sooner or later Capcom will see that we want a game that's an evolution of DMC3, not some knockoff pretending to be the real thing. If I have to wait 7 years for that to happen then so be it. Platinum Games will keep me busy until then.
As a huge fan of the DMC series I could really careless about what they do with this rebirth now. It's really sad that NT are trying so hard to make this game feel like DMC instead of an action game that's better than Bayonetta, and they're failing at that. So far the action doesn't even look as fluid as DMC4. There isn't going to be no Truestyle Tournament footage with this game lol. DMC fans, let's move on to Bayonetta 2 and ignore DmC (cont.)

I'm sure the others characters in DmC (Dick move Capcom) will look terrible. Tamtam said that the characters in Bayonetta looked bad, he said they looked too "Japanese". WTF is that suppose to mean?
Also, have you heard of a game that's coming out in 2012 called Inversion? If you haven't already, you should check out the trailer, it looks like it'll be fun. It kind of looks like they were going for an Inception esque type feel.

That's a tough question, but I would have to say Batman Begins was the best starter movie. Iron Man was great as well, but looking back on it I think they could have fleshed out better enemies.
REJOICE DMC FANS!! Ninja Theory themselves have come out and said that this DmC is NOT CANNON! It doesn't take place before or after any of the DMC games. So it's not a reboot, It's now a rebirth.... Didn't they say that this game will explain how Dante becomes the way he is now? And now they are saying that this DmC has nothing to do with the older DMC. Its an insult that this game is called Devil May Cry, it truly is.

Hello again, been a while since we last talked, but just like the last two times in the past I'm in agreement with you my friend in everything. In the case of this new Devil May cry, I'm just getting more evidence this isn't dante: it's just Angry Kevin (Feel free to steal that nickname if you want). Half Angel? That's bullshit. Part of his character was that he was half human, in that it was what set him above the demons he hunted and was integral to him. What really pisses me off though is (C
C'd) the complete lack of story details: All we know is that it's in a city, Dante's an angry Angel/Demon hybrid now and that he's just not acting like himself. I mean,I'm not saying we have to hear every last plot twist and detail, but a summary and idea of the plot should have ATLEAST come out by now. I mean, what's the basic plot? Is it a revenge story? Is Vergil Involved somehow? Are the amulets? I mean, they should atleast tell us SOMETHING! Anyway, great vid and keep up the awesome work.
I think they would have been better off modeling Dante after Little Nicky in the first place rather than the creepy pot head Dante. They might have even gotten more favorable responses.

Contrary to what Vergil fans think the DMC4 ending where Dante gives Nero Yamato was supposed to show that Dante is still a good person at heart (even though he was a total douchebag in 4) who still has faith and trust in humans and still thinks them a worthy species to fight for. @yellabonej24 He used the phrase "it's gotta stay in the family" as a reason why Nero couldn't keep it, not why he could, check again. There is never once an indication that Dante came to any kind of sudden realisation that Nero is a member of his family it is just people connecting dots that aren't there.
And there is no Dante being his usual self, he was different in almost every game, he was a bit more grown up in 1, a mute in 2, overly cocky in 3 and the same after 1, totally inconsistent.

Damn! I thought the DmC trailer was bad but when I saw the screenshots, reviews and the interview... I stayed without the words... DmC has destroyed everything for which the DMC was known and loved by the fans. DmC as a new individual game looks OK! But as a reboot of the DMC looks very, very bad. DMC, for me, ends with DMC4 (for now), and DmC is for me one of those games that companies make just to draw money from the pockets of the players. And that is the end of the story for me...

They use Cops and Cheaters because those are the cheapest "known" shows to syndicate, but they don't understand the concept of "if you invest in us, we will invest in you." If you every get the time, you should do a video about how G4 could rebuild. I would love to hear your ideas because you're very creative.

Morgan Webb has a history of trashing Japanese games, mainly JRPGs. The last time I tried watching their reviews, all they did was complained about androgynous males, big sword, hair styles, etc., instead of reviewing the game.

How much change will people accept before they realise they're being played by Capcom? Next lets turn Dante into an alien and tie it into a story -_-
Say if DmC gets them 5 million sales they want, what's to stop them from saying that they want 10 million sales due to FPS/TPS games achieving such feat? Next DMC will turn into more of a shooter and then again the cycle will start where extreme optimists will say it's good, or give it a chance. Thank you, I'll keep backing the gamers because we make the industry. They need us to buy the product, but they have to understand that we gamers control the trend of where gaming goes. Companies can't direct us where to go, because if we aren't sold on it, then they don't make money. But these days companies like EA and Capcom feel they don't need us, so it's time to make an example out of them.
Have you seen the ING preview? I posted under the name Ether101 bashing the reviewer's inability to actually do their job. Half of the resonances I got were how I basically no right to state my opinion. The idea of bashing people that actually have concerns seems to be a growing trend these days.
It's funny you say that, because IGN hates for people to say anything bad about them. Yet, they say things bad about other people and gamers all the time. Gamers should always have concerns on how to make a product better, to push the envelope or see where the future of gaming is going. To silence gamers concerns would bring the industry to a standstill, which is what we're fighting against now.

That does seem to be lingo for "don't trash the game I like." But what they fail to realize the is that when you're talking bad about the game, or it's in-depth problems, that's the reason you aren't buying the game. I agree, that scene with the lava spider will go down in the history of gaming. We won't get anything like that with this new DMC. Capcom really doesn't care anymore about their products. As many franchises they have sitting on the back burner, they still over-saturate the market with SF. They need to give that shit a rest.
Some people think you shouldn't argue or complain about something you are passionate about but that's bull. Look at the turn around Sonic has been making, Sonic 4, Colors, Generations the fanmade game that got so much attention because it was exactly what the fans wanted.. That happened because the fans stepped up and said we aren't happy with this fix it. Not because we kept honest opinions to ourselves. NT has screwed up DMC because they were trying too hard to fix something that wasn't broke.

Developers need to balance between keeping the old fans and getting new ones. Nintendo is the master at this, they made New Super Mario Bros. Wii for the fans of the 2-D but made it attractive enough for new fans. Some developers need to focus in making good games for fans and newcomers and some fans need to accept the changes and maybe see that they aren't too bad.

Actually what CAPCOM and NT forgot is if they don't care about the fans they will end up having no copies of the game selled, or at least it will be a total failure...
I think they should learn from MS and 343i. What they did is actually just upgrade the graphichs, and add some new things to the original Combat Evolved, while listening to the fans of the game.

The developers say Dante in DmC has angelic powers and an angelic stance (along with a Human and Demon stance), but never actually say he's half-angel.
The Siliconera headline says he's half-angel, half-demon *so that's where that rumor came from*; but the article itself doesn't really give any indication that he's officially "Little Nicky."

Some people don't understand that DMC (specifically 3) has a combat system with the complexity of one found in fighting games which is why IT MUST RUN AT 60 FPS. Sooner or later Capcom will see that we want a game that's an evolution of DMC3, not some knockoff pretending to be the real thing. If I have to wait 7 years for that to happen then so be it. Platinum Games will keep me busy until then.

It's really sad that NT are trying so hard to make this game feel like DMC instead of an action game that's better than Bayonetta, and they're failing at that. C'd) the complete lack of story details: All we know is that it's in a city, Dante's an angry Angel/Demon hybrid now and that he's just not acting like himself. I mean,I'm not saying we have to hear every last plot twist and detail, but a summary and idea of the plot should have ATLEAST come out by now. I mean, what's the basic plot? Is it a revenge story? Contrary to what Vergil fans think the DMC4 ending where Dante gives Nero Yamato was supposed to show that Dante is still a good person at heart (even though he was a total douchebag in 4) who still has faith and trust in humans and still thinks them a worthy species to fight for. There is never once an indication that Dante came to any kind of sudden realisation that Nero is a member of his family it is just people connecting dots that aren't there.
And there is no Dante being his usual self, he was different in almost every game, he was a bit more grown up in 1, a mute in 2, overly cocky in 3 and the same after 1, totally inconsistent.

Damn! I thought the DmC trailer was bad but when I saw the screenshots, reviews and the interview... I stayed without the words... DmC has destroyed everything for which the DMC was known and loved by the fans. DmC as a new individual game looks OK! But as a reboot of the DMC looks very, very bad. DMC, for me, ends with DMC4 (for now), and DmC is for me one of those games that companies make just to draw money from the pockets of the players. And that is the end of the story for me...

That alone proves this DmC is an alternate universe which has nothing to do with the original origin stories of Dante in the first place.

I'm not the biggest Mega Man fan, but I have mad respect for the Mega Man franchise, and I actually enjoy playing it whenever I'm over my friend's house. And Capcom is stupid for punishing their MASCOT for unknown reasons. One day Capcom and any other dumb company will learn.

Cool, thanks for the new info on Dark Souls. Counting down the days for that game! Going to GAMEfest in Birmingham next month where I'll be able to play the demo! As well as a bunch of other games that aren't out yet. Will be the first expo I've ever been to too. Can't wait. That Lucius reminds me of the film Omen btw

Morgan Webb has a history of trashing Japanese games, mainly JRPGs. The last time I tried watching their reviews, all they did was complained about androgynous males, big sword, hair styles, etc., instead of reviewing the game.
Tameem needs to keep his mouth shut. His resume is not impressive enough to be this arrogant. Can you imagine if he was though?

Why is everyone making a big deal out this whole mml3 situation sure G4 shouldnt have said what they said but it not has bad has the community is making it out to be. NT are only good at motion capture but their story telling is dull, cliche and run of the mill, but at least it will look good. That is not enough! Previews will always glow, gaming journalism is a joke; running at half the speed, destroying Dante's core appeal of being demon/human. How much change will people accept before they realise they're being played by Capcom? Next lets turn Dante into an alien and tie it into a story -_-

Say if DmC gets them 5 million sales they want, what's to stop them from saying that they want 10 million sales due to FPS/TPS games achieving such feat? Next DMC will turn into more of a shooter and then again the cycle will start where extreme optimists will say it's good, or give it a chance. DMC is dying before us and we are just accepting this foolish change!?

Let me a guess a human love interest ties him to the human world instead of his mother like in the original canon. Capcom couldn't be happy with the 2 million DMC4 so they got selfish, and that will be their undoing. This half-angel thingy totally kills any ties to the original canon - if Dante doesn't have any link to the humanity, what's the point of DMC1-4? - - Also, in original DMC lore angels are demons... So half-angel half-devil is actually a full demon. *facepalm*

The last Dmc I brought was dmc 4 of course but its bull basically they think were stupid and Sheep. They can just shove anything down our throats and we will buy it but i bet you anything. The true Dante will be dlc I can feel it capcom will do something of this nature. Hear me out if you look up the dlc characters for umvc3 you will see that Akuma,c. Viper have been made store exclusives. When they were included in the original game to began with a lot of fighting games are doing this now.

I want you to know that you have at lest made a difference in me because now I'm inspired to call these companies out too. We all need to be together to get the companies to listen to us. We can have a future were video games are controlling us or that were controlling the games and I personally like the 2nd one. So thank you :)

Thank you, I'll keep backing the gamers because we make the industry. They need us to buy the product, but they have to understand that we gamers control the trend of where gaming goes. Companies can't direct us where to go, because if we aren't sold on it, then they don't make money. But these days companies like EA and Capcom feel they don't need us, so it's time to make an example out of them.

Have you seen the ING preview? I posted under the name Ether101 bashing the reviewer's inability to actually do their job. Half of the resonances I got were how I basically no right to state my opinion. The idea of bashing people that actually have concerns seems to be a growing trend these days.

Gamers should always have concerns on how to make a product better, to push the envelope or see where the future of gaming is going. To silence gamers concerns would bring the industry to a standstill, which is what we're fighting against now.

(I used to play as Charlotte or Hanzo)
That was back then when fighting games didn't have pre-order exclusives and DLC.

But what they fail to realize the is that when you're talking bad about the game, or it's in-depth problems, that's the reason you aren't buying the game. Some people think you shouldn't argue or complain about something you are passionate about but that's bull. Look at the turn around Sonic has been making, Sonic 4, Colors, Generations the fanmade game that got so much attention because it was exactly what the fans wanted.. That happened because the fans stepped up and said we aren't happy with this fix it. Not because we kept honest opinions to ourselves. NT has screwed up DMC because they were trying too hard to fix something that wasn't broke.
