'The Ribbon' doesn't offer 'speed' nor 'ease of use'...
You can't spatially remember where things are with 'The Ribbon'. Icons and pictures are completely useless. People who use word processors are able to READ, they don't need stupid pictures.
'The Ribbon' is totally non-intuitive. You can't guess approximately where a command was, using spatial memory (i.e. a picture of the drop down menus, so you remember that 'Open' was in the left hand menu). Epic fail.
thank you for uploading this.. I will now watch a few videos about word 2007 and see if it will change my mind about it.. Right Now i hate the stuff.. Frustrated about wasted money, high bloodpressure and microsoftpeople that ought to be put up against the wall..
I was the same chadt4, the ribbon is SO different to the menu system in previous versions and it took me ages to find commands. It just takes time to get familiar with it though. Don't give up!
I am kinda fustrated with office 2007 right now. After well over 8 years using office 97-2003, its kinda hard to get used to. But over time I should adjust just fine.
I have the Ultimate Edition of Microsoft Office 2007 and it includes Word 2007, Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007, Access 2007, Outlook 2007 (which I don't use), Publiser 2007, Groove 2007, OneNote 2007 (I'm getting used to it lol), Accounting Express 2008 (which I don't even use at all), and InfoPath 2007. Learning about the ribbon took some time, but I finally got the hang of it (lol). 20 stars all the way:D Thank you so much for posting:D
I love this video!!! I have the Ultimate Edition of Microsoft Office 2007 and I love it, but it took me some time to learn more about the ribbon. I miss the menu bar so much, but I guess it's time for a change so I can adapt to changes in updated software very easily (lol). 20 stars all the way:D Thank you so much for this beautiful video tutorial:D

I love how the seriousness of the tone in this tutorial suddenly changes into a full-scale comedy at 1:55 mark.

Some people hate office 2007 because they have to relearn a few things, Boo Hoo! I personally think word 2007 is awesome!
jakeb1997 2 years ago 2
I agree. You get a lot of resistance to new software but often after you've become familiar with it it can save you time and make things easier.

anyone know weere word count is ???
catsgomeowmeowmeow 3 years ago
You should be able to see the word count in the status bar at the bottom. If you can't see it, right click on the status bar and select word count.
Hope that helps.
