  • Um... don't give up actually that's kind of small thing in ur life.

  • Korea is pretty cool actually. I want to study in south korea. I can see where you're coming from though

  • Korean immigrants dont get deported... only the hispanics do...

  • @debsinging5 South Korea is not some hell hole so going there would not be the end of the world. Also, do you know what happens if you are deported? YOU CAN APPLY FOR CITIZENSHIP THE LEGAL WAY!! So its not like your permanently out of America.

  • dude wake up... follow the law. do the right thing.

  • I was expecting, I'm gay or something. LOL

  • i thought the only group that is best known for this is the mexican, african, and SE asian didn't realize korean are one too

  • I'm a Korean, and I have experience in a law office that deals with immigration law issues.

    Please don't be rediculous!

Why do you want to pursue your happness even if it is violation of a country's law? Haven't you ever learned about "responsibility" and "freedom" in your elementary school?

In my opinion, you must go back to Korea as many ilegal residents in Korea must go back to their country.

  • @cccshp you crack me up suckaaa!! if you truly believe in America's definition of "responsibility" and "freedom" then lets go back in time...du du du du du du du...ok we're here...o lets take away the "freedom" of the natives in this land. We aren't "responsible" for their losses..and create the United States of America. yeah i bet you don't like hearing that! Most Americans don't because they want it to be relevant, but guess what it's the TRUTH and its relevant to this debate!

  • @cccshp dumbass, if you know immigration, you would know better about how koreans get illegal. Shady koreans do fake business with immigrants who doesnt know the law and english. People like you take advantage and lean some english. 쪽팔린다 .

  • yes, lets try to pass a bill that would allow more students to come into the US and molest more children like that 19 y.o. dude did. im sure it'll help with the crime rate committed by immigrants in this country.

  • Only reason why this kid is illegal is because his parents wanted education for him. Education was the precise reason why he is an illegal alien. Deported? I don't think his parents were unaware of consequences. They figured even they get deported they are still better off. It's kinda funny sometimes because many of them believes they were blacklisted by SKorean government and they had no chance of success in SKorea. while kim DJ was president??? See that doesn't make much sense.

  • Another thing, imagine how much money this nation could benefit from legalizing those who WANT to fix their paperwork. Who wants to live this way? No one!

The problem IS the government because they continue to have a broken immigration system. We need to fix this broken immigration system!

  • Don't be silent! We are all in this together!

Let me share light on this situation. There are many misconceptions about undocumented immigrants. Most commonly about costing tax payers thousands of dollars. First of all, most, if not all undocumented immigrants have an ITIN (which is a tax number to file for taxes). Many file for taxes and do the right thing by contributing however, some of this tax money does not return back to these tax payers.

  • Every person who attends 13 years of public school has cost the American taxpayer about $130,000 depending upon location. So if an illegal alien couple has two kids, it would cost $260,000 just for primary education. They would work for about 100 years to pay that amount in school taxes. Be generous and make it 50 years. At that rate, this family NEVER breaks even. Most American families won't either, but there is a huge difference- they are Americans.

Open borders will flood this nation.

  • People keep trying to assign a value to this. This young man thinks he deserves citizenship because he has been here and done well in school. So what about a below average student? What about someone who was 17 when his parents and he came to the US. Seventeen is more than old enough to know right from wrong.

This is not an issue of fairness to illegal immigrants. It's about the right of the American people to have secure borders and not have illegal aliens breaking our law coming here.

  • well i will say that this is bull and it is unfair to people like me who came here legally and its like giving visas to all mexican who just walk across the borders... its cruel but to be fair to everyone US Gov. has to be cruel to few.

  • You should go to Canada and just study there. It's not worth it to waste your time in hiding in America.

  • I think it was brave, but not smart for him to post this video. Now, INS knows what he looks like and will probably deport him.

  • Well, it is unfortunate that he was put in this situation in the first place. I don't think you can blame the U.S. government, but his mother. They should have left the country before the visa expired. I know plenty of young Korean kids who get visas to study in American schools. This is the worst time to deal with his bill due to the economy. I really don't think Pres. Obama would want to deal with the conservative backlash along with the other issues facing the country.

  • just find a white girl to marry bro!

    lol jk...

  • You are so brave.

  • So brave of you. I hope this act passes through!!

Even though he's not legally an American, culturally speaking, he is. If he spends most of his lifetime in the US, to where should he go? He pretty much has to leave his LIFE for his legal homeland. Note that he didn't choose to come to the States for he probably was only a dependant under the age of 18. I hope for the best results. God bless!

  • i'm gonna spread this video..

    i'm in canada

    but it really touched me

i hope the act passes through

  • Please people, if you are going to make accusations, have the ability to concretely back it up, and not just by your xenophobic attitude wishing to display your ignorance out front. (such as WDM08002)

Don't say California's education failed because of illegal immigrants, because many educators will tell you otherwise. Look at Prop 13, at the teachers unions...it's easy to scapegoat, more difficult to look at the straight facts.

  • God bless this man.. He is the most courageous human being ive ever seen on Youtube.. sacrificing himself for future of thousands of undocumented immigrant students. All of you keyboard warriors and haters should learn from this man.. This is the person who will contribute much more greatly for this society than all of you stupid keyboard warriors combined. I hope Dream act passes. America needs person like Ju more than ever.

  • wow, so many good examples of stupidity, racism, and ignorance.....I'm just going to say that before you imbeciles post another idiotic comment, remember that the Dream Act is for people that had no say in being here so by that fact, in theory, "dreamers" could have very well been your undereducated selves....and to angrywinds, yeah that's right coward, diss hispanics on the internet cuz you're probably one of them losers that can't get a gf in real life so you resort to online nonsense hating!

  • wow, if you only knew that the Mexican education system is so far ahead of the dumbass american one. Trust me I was in it for 6 years, they have 6th graders doing what h.s sophomores do here.

  • oh wow....its useless to argue with someone so ignorant. in true american form you are IGNORANT to the core..fucking americans haha

  • good video.. keep your hopes up dont let people like this dumb fuck under me (bajarat) bring you down there just ignorant people. Good job!

  • amazing! thanks for speaking out on this issue. I'll be sure to pass this on.

  • Amazing. You are very brave for doing this and I hope DREAM passes as soon as possible. You should not be punished for other people's actions.

  • Don't you?

Most of you illegal kids despite having been here as children still have no idea what this country is about. It's about success, strength, and lawfulness.

As white Americans, we have made racism the religion of this country, and we have made ourselves the gods of that religion. If you don't have status, you really are just particles of dust that no one sees or concerns with. I sure don't know anyone who does.

  • WDM08002: Don't you have anything better to do than post comments on youtube video?

Many people care about the DREAM Act and immigration issues. Of course, there are always ignorant and selfish people who will belittle others and only care about issues that only affect themselves personally.

Ju: You are so brave and such an inspiration to all of us, immigrants and citizens alike. Thank you for your video and for your courage.

  • You can do something important with your life, if you are willing to face a future in Korea. This is not your country.

  • Dream ACT will pass in feb 2010, have hope!!

  • No it won't, we white Americans hardly give a crap about illegal immigrant kids. It's way in the back of our minds, and it looks too much like amnesty for our sentate to ever go along with it.

  • We'll see about that. =)

  • @WDM08002

    other american do.

not only white american here in us

  • Isn't curious how folks like Coribec have to result to slurs to get their point across? Do you think he or she ever thinks about the fact that our country of birth is chosen for us randomly, and that he or she just got lucky?

Ju, you are very brave. The dirty secret of the immigration issue in this country is that our economy is dependent on the work of undocumented people. You shouldn't have to stay in the shadows... I hope the Dream Act passes so you can go to College!

  • I know that many people do come to the states legally. But some end up as undocumented and deported because their immigration lawyers commit fraud in the immigration process, leaving a family or an individual no where to go or seek for help. Beyond students like Hong, we need to help those who tried to become immigrant legally, spent fortunes to work with a lawyer but becomes victim in the immigration process.

  • I think your story will help many students move and eventually pass the dream act.

  • Ignorance is bliss, huh?

  • God bless you, and your urge is genuine...

You got balls to do this!

  • good job!

  • Thank you for sharing. You have my full support.

  • This is a very brave thing you have done, and for that I applaud you.

  • The United States is a country of immigrants.

Who are any of us to say that someone can't have a future in our country?

What you are saying doesn't really reflect the American value of Freedom. One of which makes me proud to be American.

  • Nay, the USA is a country of *legal* immigrants. Did you know that there is a years-long line for legal immigrants to get in the USA? Their kids want to go to school here too... but they have to wait outside and defer gratification.

Putting dream act kids before those legal immigrants and their kids is immoral. The fact that "they're already here anyway" is reason against giving them status, not for it.

  • Legal killing the Indians?

  • How is that relevant?

  • thank you for sharing your story! testimonials like yours help other people understand what we need in the fight for equal educational opportunities and comprehensive immigration reform!

  • wellbing OK , you are a moron, you incompetent imbecile. who the hell are you to say that we are a shame to Korea? Screw Korea, you think I give a crap about Korea? Mang shing? There's nothing even good about Korea, you can stick your false patriotism in your rear end.

  • Ass hole. I roomed with a Korean man out in Yellowstone NP this summer and he was one of the more realistic and complete person I've ever met. This kid has lived in the states for the majority of his life and should stay. I'll support his dream. No problem bro.
