Hey im around a 105 lbs. and im trying to get into longobarding but the always give advice for beginners. I used to skate street and i was realllly good, i know for a fact i can do most of the slides in longbarding and i want something good for slides but i still like the fast downhill idea becuase im used to it and enjoy bombing hills. I was thinking about a tan tien but im not sure. HEEEEEELPPPPPPP MEEEEEE
Okay seriously? I have ridden Arbor, Landyachts, Loaded, Krown, Original, Sector 9, and Santa Cruz,,, Sector 9 boards are awesome, people who say there trash are people who haven't even ridden them because daddy bought them a dervish
the tan tien is probs the best! i have a dervish and theres no lips to it and its to flexy and curved. not trying to be mean, but for the people wanting to buy a dervish i suggest go with the tan tien
@BMRlongboarding depends on what your using it for, Tan Tien is better for fingerflips and manuals due to its double kick and the Dervish is better for sliding. it also depends on the flex of the board.
Sector 9 is a great company. They make cruiser "starter boards" for people who aren't good and want to get a longboard to cruise around on. Sector 9 has some of the best wheels and DH decks on the market. Everyone stop bitching about HIS choice for the best board/company. Sector 9 is the shit, nuff said.
I respect your opinion, but I personally would not put three sector 9 boards ahead of the apex 37. If you look at the design and the layers of various woods and the carbon fiber weave, the apex is far superioir, not even mentioning the carbon fiber strip that keeps it from losing shape. Just my opinion.
interesting opinion, i disagree though. in my experience Sec 9's snap too fast and originals peal like a banana (i dont live in the warmest climate that might play a part) the most solid longboards that i have owned/ ridden are landyacht, and they get mad respect points for giving a free helmet with the purchase of any complete. don't get me wrong my first board was a sec 9 and i loved it, it just broke really fast. original, i have no respect for and loaded im just not a fan.
I've been longboarding for a few years now, I've owned an Array of different boards,
such as the Landyachtz Evo/Switchblade, Raynes Timeline, Fullbag Elise, Loaded Dancer Rotule Desert Eagle, and a few other custom boards, I can safely say after owning three Sector nine boards that for a few extra bucks you can be buying an AMAZING first board, just because Sector has many boards available, does not mean there superior. Landyachtz / Raynes are my favourite companies, and there not too overpriced
i have ridden almost all of those boards except the apex 37 and my own board was made by this no brand guy that makes boards in his garage bought it for 250 and in my opinion it was the best.
Everyone is getting pissed off about him picking S9, but its his opinion lol. And @7jimmyland .... First of all, being in middle school doesn't make you cooler, it just proves your ignorance.. My first board was a S9, and now i have the Apex 37 Carbon. The S9 is a GREAT starter board, and I passed it down to my cousin when i got the new one. Sadly as Landyachtz is a great longboard company, there really is no "best" so please... Just shut the fuck up
first of all get ur fucking facts strieght to me the landyachtz evo is the king of boards iff ur going to do downhill but i still use it for everytihing and i hate how u say that apex is like number seven thats in the top three
Landyaghtz Boards are for for downhill/sliding, apex 37 for freestyle, and tan tien is in a bit if both. They are all nice boards at the least. You have to give them that...
These are totally different boards. This makes no sense. "Longboard" is to general of a term. you should have done cruising longboards or downhill skateboards etc.
@Sharpthingsftw Sector 9 super shaka is a great board, and their downhill division is amazing, and their wheels are top notch. You they dont suck at all.
I really dislike the tantien and the dervish is okay but not my first choice. Loaded and lanyachtz are like apple: you get a good quality product with slot of drawbacks. Rayne is like Microsoft: over looked but better. Thats my opinion tho
and what would the downhill boards be apart from obviously the evo and the only freeride boards would possibly be the abour or maybe the tan tien. all the rest would just be cruisers or freestyle
