You have a great series here for ACM. I'm from the Aces High world and these same maneuvers apply, although they look different. As far as the barrel roll though, I'd mention you want to bias towards lag pursuit with your lift vector, that way your opponent shoots out in front of you.

You make a very valid point about using lag pursuit regarding the lift vector, but it's just by my personal preference that I consider the pursuit curves off the thrust vector only. I try to keep the explanations short and simple for the videos, but any comments to enhance the ideas/principles are very welcome!
Maybe once CoD comes out I could do some adaptations for WWII, but will see how it goes
