Cold Steel: (1 of 4) Big Bore Blowgun

Have a 5 foot professional .625 blowgun, works great and hits hard!

Any chance that Cold Steel will make an even longer blowgun? I've been able to hit targets at 20-30 yards but I know you can shoot even farther than that with a bigger blowgun.

@csknives Thanks for the response, one more thing- can I mount the bushman to the end of a CS blowgun and make it a spear? I'm trying to find a way to fix a bayonet on the end of my blowgun but I've been looking at a Bushman as an option because of its centered weight.

@BriggsRed the bushman is designed for a much thicker shaft or spear pole etc. With a bit of ingenuity it might be possible but I've never seen that mod before. Interesting... :)

@csknives I just bought a 625 big bore. the darts that are included are complete garbage. you cannot hunt with bent plastic darts that dont fly straight (broadhead) tTHE STUN DARTS DONT EVEN FIT! THEY JUST GET STUCK the bamboo ones are food skewers with a cheap plastic cone on the back. basically i bought a 30 dollar aluminum tube... great .. not really like cold steel to sell crap like this (except for a few knives which will remain nameless) my pvc one works just as good.

May I add......the Cold Steel ammo is super; however, I have found some inconsistencies in the shapes of the cones that are supplied. Assuming we can supply a consistent aim and blow pressure with each shot, it is a variable. Just make sure you have a round cone before shooting. This really applies if you use your ammo several times......especially when being successful in shooting a tight group, and you have damage to the cone(s). Also, I use nose breaths when the mouthpiece is on my face....

I used one of the original 5' Blowpipes to prevent 3 good sized dogs from chewing my pooch. I warped it some, but the effect was adequate, and seemed to be instantaneous. It seemed like all I had to do was Think about swinging it, and BAM! It was there!

Just got one of the New "Professional" 5' pipes. This is more like a True piece of pipe. This might have Cratered them dogs heads, instead of Bent my Blowpipe!

There is very little difference in actual performance, but the 5foot is preferred due to the fact that it is slightly more stable.

I am considering purchasing a coldsteel bigbore blowgun, the 5 foot one that dissasembles into two parts.

I plan to use it for ninjitsu training, so I'm wondering how it performs using just the one half.

We really don't have the exact numbers, but I think it would be fair to assume there will be a loss in accuracy and velocity.

Obviously having a shorter barrel would affect the accuracy to a certain degree, but for you intended purpose of shooting targets at 20 yards should not be an issue.

this blowgun is far too large and unwieldy to use in any type of stealth situation, and accuracy is a non-point in a ninjutsu blowgun, as a ninja uses stealth to get close, not snipe them from 75 yards with the thing.
