  • I hate watching your videos knowing I can never purchase any of these. :(

  • @torelful Right.

  • @torelful The turning mechanisms are much different. On a megaminx, each face turns by itself, much like on a 3x3x3 Rubik's cube.

The best way I can describe it is that on a megaminx, the line along which a face turns makes up the line of the star on each adjacent side which connects to the CENTERS of each adjacent pentagonal face, whereas the starminx's turning lines make up lines which connect the CORNERS of each adjacent pentagonal face.

    Understandable?

  • lets just hope he knows how to solve these things!

  • something thats bugging the shit out of me: why doesn't anyone talk in these vids where theyve made new puzzles? seriously, youve made something cool. now tell me about it.

  • @mynameisdarthtater I do tell you about it, in the description. I also show you how it works. that the purpose of these demonstration videos

  • @mynameisdarthtater haha it pisses me off too

  • @mynameisdarthtater What's there to tell? I just want to see how it turns, anything else is irrelevant.

  • It...kind of looks like the dodecahedron equivalent to a skewb? Or maybe I'm wrong. Either way, its awesome.

  • could those centers be used for the centers in a pentultimate?

  • Pyraminx with no corners?

  • hmm really strange puzzle i'm how asking how it works....

  • At the beginning of your videos, I always try and guess where the axis of rotation is before you start turning.. and I'm always wrong.

thought it turned on a corner like a dino, but this is way more interesting.

  • yeah i think this one is like the pyraminx crystal.

  • Comment removed

  • Was it cheaper to make than to buy the auction original by aleh? lol

  • the only reason I made it was because I lost that auction =P

  • I thought it was a megaminx, except this one doesnt have corners, the corners are merged with the edge. looks hard still!!

  • You know, you're such a great puzzle builder, we should name sth after you. Something big...

    How about a mountain?

It would be [Mountain Dew]seph! How about that?

This is my slightly arrogant way of saying you have a typo in your title....lol

    don't be offended.

    just messing with 'ya.

  • wow can't believe I missed that, no one said a thing!

  • i made one in UMC

  • holy shit its a fisher cube megaminx i think! wow!

  • uh, no it is not

  • oh yea!!! wtf lol idk y i said that :P

its more like a rly deep cut megaminx--like if u averaged a megaminx and a starminx it would equal a pyraminx crystal?

  • wait, hows it different from a megaminx?

  • at its heart, its not any different, whats different is that the pieces of the megaminx are holding in a floating piece, which is holding in 2 more floating pieces, which makes this puzzle turn in a completely new way.

  • Clever, its stunn me harder..Great work drew

  • you never fail to amaze me drew =)

  • looks like a dino doc.

  • or a deeper cut pyraminx crystal

  • was it cast or made from another puzzle

  • cast

  • wow! whats next

  • Great job as always, excellent color scheme!

  • I am truly amazed at the potential of this mechanism. I never expected it to be able to turn this good.

    Nicely done!

  • well done, as always!
