Interestingly enough Elephants are one of the few four legged animals (perhaps the ONLY one, I cant remember) where all four legs bend back, instead of the front ones bending back, and the back ones bending forward. As the elephant grows heavier, it places more strain on the joints which face the wrong way & will no longer be able to support it in time. Poor elephant. It must be in terrific pain all the time. Unfortunately it will in time become food for scavengers & predators. That is how nature deals with deformities so they are not perpetuated. sad. Very sad for the pitiful animal. :(
