@Pinkberrie123 im 13 and i feel the same way but i found these guys when i was 6. its sad no one i know listens to Big Country or The Skids RIP Stuart
you have to ask youself, with this much tallent why would you do it ??? He had a lot of issues with himself and the world and now the world is a lesser place without the talent that was Stuart Adamson and Big Country. We should be thankful we had him and that some of us could see it live on stage. Thanks SA and BC.
No bullshit, won't pump my religious or political opinions into what isn't there, just a great song, and what a video, I feel robbed of what could have been with this bloke. He had more talent in his little finger than most can dream of.
Saw them last night in Notts, Mike Peters did great job , loved the Alarm too, but so sad, Stuart could have been there... Big Country spirit lives on... Stay ALIVE !!!
I grew up listening to this song, im 18, my dad loves big country, And after a bit of questioning, i found out that my dad named me Calum after Stuarts son, who he went to see at one of his gigs, got recognised by Calum and got to go to the sound check with them, and also hes just got back from seeing Big Country in Nottingham, its sad what happened to Stuart and may he Rest In Peace,
@debbieedeedoo i worked as a roadie for Big Country in the early 90's....so you can say i knew them all pretty well. Packed the job in and lost touch with them all thru my own fault. Hit me like a sledge hammer when i heard about Stu
@joshpogi777@PapaC1992 Yes but the band is still existing! :) Wikipedia: On 16 December 2001 Adamson was found dead, after committing suicide by hanging in a room at the Best Western Plaza Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii. At the time of death he had a blood-alcohol content of 0.279%.
no one will ever come close to stuart in my eyes a truly talented lost soul who touched so many people with his beautiful lyrics and fantastic guitar work what an inspiration to so many people if only he could of seen how he meant to all of his fans he might still be here today, rest in peace stuart my hero my friend never forgotten x
As I am close to Scotland (as a German) still have many friends there, I loved Big country. Gettin *Ships* for the first time in my ears, I felt what we all need:

how anyone can 'dislike' anything written or performed by Stuart Adamson / BIg Country is beyond belief. The words, the melodies, the messages.....will remain with me forever.
Stuart's voice haunts me. It so depressing to think that his genius is no longer with us. He had an ability to write songs and deliver them with meaning. I think everyone can find a Big Country song that they can relate to. The music world is a much sadder place without Stuart in it. RIP :(
So sorry Stuart, I wasn't there when your ship went down, like so many of us, I was busy trying to save my own, but I will always regret not seeing you. You are so missed, I hope you are at peace now.
Fantastic - and even that ain't a good enough word to use! RIP Stuart - You will never be forgotten and your music will live on in our hearts forever.
Has to be my fave BC song , had the pleasure of meeting Stuart and his then wife Sandra before a Alarm gig in Edinburgh , what a true genuine nice guy, they spent ages talking to me and my mate before the gig, will never forget the big man!!!!!

@TheJollyColonel i really think it would have been a more fitting tribute to let Stuart's fantastic legacy speak for itself. And as for Mike Peters...just wrong
@azurasstar1 rightly or wrongly BC with Mike Peters eh? I attended the recent Islington 02 gig. It was very well handled and delivered. Crowd went bonkers, including me. All the old favourites, and not a money earner. Band were visibly taken back by the response. Younger punters there, who couldn't have possibly seen the original band but knew all the words. Going to Cambridge which happens ot be on Stuart's b'day and really looking forward to it. Go and see it before you diss it mate...
Saw Big Country at the Liverpool Empire in the 90's and it was a fantastic gig. God bless you Stuart and thank you for all the songs you've given us. R.I.P.

A fans reunion would be great, we should seriously do this.
Hire a room for the night, B/C blasting way all night, few drinks share a few memories etc.
Set up a display of B/C memorobillia etc.
I've done countless nights like this for T.Rex fans, I live in Liverpool, anybody interested in a B/C Night keep in touch on here.
I've been a fan since the beginning by the way, got to see them live countless times (60 odd I think) had some brilliant times and still miss Stuart loads.
@BART51258 sounds like a terrific idea! there room for a 22 year old who still wishes everyday he had the chance to see what he thinks is the best band ever?
Im with you Stuart!!....I left school in 85 listening to steeltown...im now 40 and youre still there after all these years...great music and bands never die!! Any chance of a reunion people?? If Big Country touched your lives, lets make it happen!!
Stuart war ein absolutes Genie! Leider wandeln diese feinsinnigen Menschen oft am Abgrund- Stu ging einen Schritt zu weit- niemand war da, um ihn aufzuhalten. Es macht mich immer noch sehr traurig!
But he lives forever in his great songs!!! Thank you so much!!!
still dont understand why he wasnt famous here in the United States but that is what happens when you dont spread your ass cheeks and act like a idiot like 99% of the famous United States singers.
I hasten to add I've followed BC, as I could from Canada, since 1983. I knew the Skids, but The Crossing created me. I wrote furiously to BC. I composed. I felt that I knew Stuart. He sang to me! The incredible music, tight, controlled, precise.
I can't express my loss. BC resonates in my soul, each day.
This is music to live by. Here in the states no one remembers these guys; one day I heard In a Big Country (their only Stateside hit) on the radio and rushed home and spent the next half hour trying to remember the lyrics so I could find it on the net. So glad I did.
@70blin... I here ya. I was a fan years ago but I haven't really listened to their stuff for a long time. I recently rediscovered them and haven't been able to get enough since. Sadly, Stuart is gone and I'm starting to age. Everytime I listen to them I recapture a small slice of my youth... if only for a bit.
@70blin Me too, I liked them back then but forgot about them. Now I don't play much else, the music seems to have aged well and seems more relevant to me now than it was then. Shame I can't tell Stuart what this means to me.
@veryheaven1924... your comments reflect my feelings exactly. 20 years (or whatever) later and i love them/him even more. i listen again and again, too, finding more and more to connect with. and it's not just nostalgia, either.
Me too, I feel the same way, agree totally with the last 4 postings. I was amazed at how much they did in the 90s and I knew nothing about it until I saw it on Youtube. They were criminally neglected, we all let you down Stuart, sorry, you deserved so much better.
Stuart's guitar is as masterful as his songs. Tony is the bass player all want, goes with the song to improve it, no ego trips to get his "special lick" in, same goes with his harmonies.A well-spoken, well brought up fellow is Tony. Mark is brilliant, but for togetherness, Tony just gives.
A truly talented gentleman.....yet sadly, a deeply troubled one.........this place be a little colder and darker without you Stuart...R.I.P xx

Amazing song. I think I'll be heading to amazon to purchase a new Big Country CD. What an amazing band.

Their music today stands the test of time.
Compared to half the rubbish put out now Stuys music soared. What happened to them where did they go, why didnt we here much of them in Australia?
A great loss now that Stuy aint around. RIP

I knew of Big Country back in the 80's but didn't actually appreciate their sound until only very lately. What a fool I was. This is fantastic.

@70blin... I here ya. I was a fan years ago but I haven't really listened to their stuff for a long time. I recently rediscovered them and haven't been able to get enough since. Sadly, Stuart is gone and I'm starting to age. Everytime I listen to them I recapture a small slice of my youth... if only for a bit.
BuggetNuster 1 year ago
@70blin Me too, I liked them back then but forgot about them. Now I don't play much else, the music seems to have aged well and seems more relevant to me now than it was then. Shame I can't tell Stuart what this means to me.

@veryheaven1924... your comments reflect my feelings exactly. 20 years (or whatever) later and i love them/him even more. i listen again and again, too, finding more and more to connect with. and it's not just nostalgia, either.

@darcelink

When I think of Stuart's personal problems I'm not sure running a Captain Morgan's rhum advert on this page is the coolest thing, but anyway .......
Thanks for the great video posting.
