There is no artist out today that comes to mind as I am writing this that can even stand in the same room with these guys. artist today lack creativity and originality. using OTHER PPLS HITS to sell records, it's pathetic. music is nowhere near where it used to be. computers are doing EVERYTHING for artist nowadays.. and i believe that was the contributing factor of why ppl stopped BUYING music. it wasn't speaking to them anymore. a bunch of recycled garbage. LONG LOVE THE 60's,70's & 80's!
i saw these guys open up for the doobie bros. in mobile ala. just as the album LIFE BEYOND L.A. was hitting the airwaves..........great concert, i still remember it 30 plus years later.......GOOD TIMES......
This song is sooooo much a part of my 'coming of age'...my first boyfriend...this was our song until "Babe" (Styx) came about. I see the sidebar list contains so many other memory-lane moments during that time. LOL, and my daughters always tease that I am stuck in the 80's! Man I feel a-n-c-i-e-n-t suddenly. Oh but I love this song and Exile's "Kiss You All Over"....thanks for putting this up.
I think this song "That's How Much" from Ambrosia and "Reminissin" from the Little River Band were two of the most played that year, Oh, and the Doobie Brothers and Kenny Logins to. 1978 was great for popular music period, love this decade! In fact other block buster groups came through with similar lyrics like this, ToTo, Player, John Paul Jones with his classic "Love is in the Air" Gino Vanelli and to many others to mention! This was real music!
And to think, there are people in this world who don't have the slightest clue as to who this band is, nor are they aware of how great their songs are. The same is true for not only this band, but for other similar groups from that time in music. They don't write'm like that anymore. Thank God I was born during a time which gave me the fortune of being able to grow up surrounded by real music like this. The radio was always on at our house it seems. I remember this one fondly.
As much as I love this song, it makes me sad. Especially when he sings, "Sometimes when we make love, I still see your face." It's obviously he still loves her very much and should still be with her.
@whatsaidfred Exactly! Took the words right out of my mouth. And to think I've first heard this song as a sophmore in college, although I never went far with my college career anyway as I left in midterm 1979.
This was real music, I don't know what that shit is that they have today?

This song is ageless, timeless, and 1000 times better than anything on the radio, today! And that's how much I feel for this song! :-)
