Listening to Stephen, and that cat gravel growl..love it..makes me hippity hoppy happy...

  • saw him play it with the dead 83ish brenden burn arena fing smoking hot

  • there was another live version that was once on youtube (god damn youtube sometimes), i want to say from '71? electric, way funky. not as rocking as this version, but groovier.

  • sweet. someone reposted the one i was talking about. it was from the supershow '69. both simply amazing versions.

  • anyone know where i can find the acouctic version they took off you tube.that was one of the best recordings i've ever heard.

  • Audio only? - It might have been taken from his 'Just Roll Tape' - 1968 demo.

The whole album is one gem after another.. well worth buying.

  • @misspopanoche

this album is the best guitar lesson ever.

Anyway, I guess the best version of this song, is still the one on the "Stephen Stills" album.

  • there is a live acoustic version that is phenomenal off of their "four way street" album

  • @Tianshou88 yeah, I appreciate the acoustic version more although this is incredible. I just tonite found guitar lesson for it by "electricragtime". after 2 yrs of digging the hell out of it, its not that difficult to play. this version makes me want to burn one LOL. Long live Stills, and Charlie Harris the "old black man" stephan said used to play this song outside a feed store.

  • @eaglemanlad

search for CSNY : DETROIT 1969 : BLACK QUEEN .

  • @eaglemanlad

Off the CSN&Y album, "Four-way Street"

  • lol... Couldn't have put it better myself

  • Simply the BEST version of Black Queen - bar none! Thanks for your video response & kind words.

ps: your cover of 'Triad' has been added my favs.

    Full 5's on both~

  • Sorry, I gotta disagree. The bestest "Black Queen" is on "Stephen Stills"

  • The version on 'Live' Is pretty darn good too ;)

  • you can see him rocking out on the 1974 version of wembly stadium and see if someone has a copy of it and no HE WASNT DRINKING JUST HIGH ON THE MUSIC!

  • Yeah - If 'Music' is code for 'Cocaine' lol

  • haha. Just a bit, yeah.

  • i want the whole show! This is killer!

  • Miss Ive seen a vid of this song played on tour in this year electric just like this. This is a much better quality version, it sounds like stills wasnt drinking as much at this show. Where did you get this? Can I get a copy of the audio? I have some basement recordings of jimi and stills jamming together I could trade for some of these version? Cool hit me back thanks.

  • Black Queen is on that demo album I was telling you about 'Just Roll Tape'. It's a fantastic song and this version rocks!!

  • Just Roll Tape is brilliant!

  • Man, I really like these vids Misspop. I've never heard most of them, so this is a real treat for me. Black Queen Loudly :o) I love it :o) -Ron
