  • i actually thought this was one of the better looking sporty cars of the era and you hardly ever see these cars on the road, even back when they first came out, I liked these cars better than the early Fox-body Mustang.

  • everything but a good engine

  • Chrysler = HUGE PILE OF SMOKEY HOT COW SHIT

  • @taylorgpa Then why the hell are you wasting you time watching Dodge Commercials? ya putz! By the way its better than horse shit ford, or cat crap chevy

  • wtf was dodge thinking?

  • @danthman114 this was a then chrysler dodge mitsubishi joint program car, we also had this ugly heap of shit in Australia under the chysler banner.. certainly not a car worthy of wearing the challenger badge :D

  • all 1978 challengers should be destroyed. i love the 70-74 and the new challengers but this is just so ugly!

  • give me a fuckin' break god damn it ! ., push that thing off a cliff here i'll give you a hand ready dude ? ., make sure it in neutral 1st.

  • @raydonato42276 Haha not at all. I was being sarcastic lol

  • what a shame.................

  • the transmission on the 1978-1983 Dodge Challenger

    Transmission

    5-speed manual

    3-speed automatic

  • Owners of real challengers should be in tears at this car. No wonder the company was such a disaster just a year after.

  • this car was a piece of feces

  • An embarrassment to the Challenger name...

  • what a joke..

  • This is the same car as the Plymouth Sapporo, right?

  • @fuldamobil Yes, I had a 1981 Sapporo. Not much difference in body. Just grille and light package. Mitsubishi powered.....

  • Looks like a Mitsubishi... Bet it is underneath.

  • @Nomasain

It is. It's a rebadged Mitsubishi Galant.

  • wuh wuh wuh waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaafuck the late 70's and 80's man!!! the only good 78 was the camaro and trans am!!

  • and people are mad that the new Charger has 4 doors. Wtf is this? This ain't no Challenger lol. I don't care how decent it was.

  • If they had stuffed a 4-bbl 318 in a few, some people would've said, "Mustang II who?"

  • Lol, How Embarrassing... I4 Challenger.

  • My first car too....Tough as nails...I ran it out of oil, coolant, took it field bombing and lost my virginity in it. Hit a deer with it, crumpled a ford ecoline van bumper and a Ford exp fender with it...I had studded snow tires on it year round, the thing would get to any field party....The front A arm rusted off its mount, sending it to its junkyard grave.....sigh

  • I saw one of these at the junkyard

  • I'm surprised these cars weren't standard with power steering

  • I had one just like this... It was my first car...

  • the 1978-1983 Dodge Challenger was assembled in

    Okazaki, Aichi, Japan

  • I've never seen one either!

  • I always thought these Mitsubishi built Challenger's are very underrated vehicles, they were IMO much better than the Mustang's built during this time period.

  • I have never seen one of these
