  • Smart guy, but I'd hate living there

  • Wow!

  • this is amazing.

  • oh wow!!

  • amazing

  • OMG but this is extremely expensive!

  • How much did it cost him to build that. This is the only issue that I have with all this eco friendly, space saving etc architecture. It costs a fortune to build. You probably have to be a millionaire to live like that which defeats the object in my opinion.

  • why people just like to use : "DISLIKE" ????

  • and the bathroom? :O

  • Cave Johnson here. I present to you- PANELS!

  • Says a lot about capitalism that people will rather live packed in tiny apartments in Hong Kong than move to socialist China.

  • id kill for that apartment

  • very sick, 300 sq ft and feel very proud of it.

Hong Kong is living hell, no doubt about it.

    Sick sick sick

  • Screening room + hammock = mad porn watching!

  • and it also serves the purpose of a gym :D

  • Doesn't talk about cost! Looks like it cost a small fortune to set this up in ones apartment. Is it really practical and doable on a mass scale? Would be good, but no likely for the common folk.

  • @oysterriver2011 Depends on where that apartment is built, in areas where lands is very expensive it is more practical than getting a bigger place to stay, For example an apartment of a similar size (330 sf) would cost a fortune. In areas where land is much cheaper this would be unpracticed.

  • very nice indeed

  • @parfumeria33ro

i know what you mean !

    capitalism sucks doesnt it ?!

  • It might seem amazing to many, but I was 10 when I was imagining things like that. I never had the opportunity to do anything of what I imagined. Not that I'm too damn creative, but I've imagined things, and still do.

It's... frustrating to see things on TV, YouTube... or cars on the streets that have some stupid "new, cool feature" that you thought of way back. I'm the living proof that it's not enough to be creative. It's more important to have good parents, money and/or meet the right people.

  • @parfumeria33ro Perseverance is much more valuable than any of those man.

  • JUST WAIT UNTIL HE HAS KIDS...LOL

  • All those cd/dvd were bootleg.

  • @ThePeter74Peter He's the bootlegger!!!

  • This guy deserves an award in architecture...

  • @Sattack210 you mean interior design.

  • @Sattack210 you mean interior design.

  • Awesome design...where is the toilet?

  • :D

    Asian :D

  • architect lvl: ASIAN

  • I love this man! Hes awesome!

  • what the fuck.

  • Alot of ppl comment never been to HONG KONG and don't really understand the value of space. A place like that would probably cost you a million here. No joke,

  • And then you stand there "Where the f*ck did i place the toilet????"

  • Also with the amount he spent.. which Idk how much.. he couldv'e gottena bigger place or no? :o

  • they allow remodeling in gov't own buildings?? not at my uncles! ~_~

  • Wow! That's so awesome! just imagine how much planing he had to do!

  • does this guy really need to be subtitled? if you cant understand him then fucking learn to. I hate being spoonfed

  • wait, wheres the bathroom???

  • @pie0wns It's not about laziness, it's about efficiency. Jeez, what an airhead.

  • Really cool, but seems like it's very impractical. What if you're sitting on the bed and you want a beer? You've got to fold up the bed and move a wall just to get a beverage!

  • @FGsGFdG2 Hard to believe but some people in this world aren't lazy

  • This is so cool, that I really want to transform my house into like that. :/

  • $_$_$

  • Sucks when you HAVE TO USE THE TOILET REALLY BADLY! :(

  • Comment removed

  • Felicidades!!! Alcanzo un buen nivel de funcionalidad, si tuviera elementos austeros en carpinterias y otra luz, seria fenomenal!!!

  • All I have to say is.... ROOMCEPTION!

  • Imagine coming home drunk and trying to do all that!

  • @Boogiemann9557 thats the first thing that ran through my mind lol!

  • my rooms got rooms.

  • Glad he like sit, wouldn't fit for me, I would hate to have to move around walls, but I do agree that small can be awesome if done right.

  • Would be something cool to do with my bedroom since it's a little bigger than that apartment.

  • where's the bathroom? i guess he takes a shit on the tv or in the kitchen hahaha

  • it wouldve been cool if they showed us all 24 rooms including the bathroom

  • HOLY CARP!!!!!! Another reason to dislike big cities! I'm currently building a 12k sq ft home- very green, efficient, and inexpensive! (It's so big, b/c of the 3k sq ft library, and the fact it is being built for a large family- 6 adults, and lots of chiuldren. Oh- 80% is underground- very cheap to heat!

  • @mrlearntoread have you really never used a skill you are talented in to benefit yourself? how do you know he isn't helping other people? from the whole video I never got the feeling that he is selfish. I got the feeling that he used a skill he had to make his situation more comfortable. what you are saying would be like me saying: why don't you just give that plate of food you are eating to a poor person. yeah we all should help people more but don't just get on youtube to be an ass to someone.

  • brate sta reci ovo je za ginisa ovo nemoz niko da uradi

  • I feel sorry for him.

  • I can see this in the mass production potentials/values.

    It's great for single bachlars/students!!

  • I can't wait for the next guy who comes up with 25 rooms.

  • hahahahahahahahahah

  • Respond to this video... hahahaha

  • Gary, you are a genius!!!

  • smart but will it blend

  • Now Mr Gary Chang, why dont you apply your selfish luxurious attitude to dwelling in Hong Kong and apply these ideas to help the people who are forced to live in cage houses.

i know you are a local Hong Konger, naturally you only care about yourself. Why not help someone else for a change eh?

  • he's a mad genius!

  • Nice channel :D

  • keep it up my friend, and thanks for sharing this video

  • So you have everything but a toilet? Does that mean he pees in his tub? O_O

  • you are tank.

  • totally subscribing!

  • That video was awesome!

  • Im hungry let me just put my bed back into the wall pull my kitchen out from behind the tv then take a bath under the guest bed...

  • @kingraider7 His bed would already have been put away. Most people don't lie around in bed until they're ready to cook dinner.

  • this was so cool!

  • i really loooove your videos

  • That could be frustrating when you forget where you left your keys.

  • making money on the clock because of you thanks!

  • Awesome! What a great business. Count me in!

  • Gary's room is 1/3rd the size of my parents bathroom. Sucks to live in Hong Kong lol

  • @free2rhyme214 It sucks even more to write comments like this.

  • he should chat to jay schafer

  • un friggin believable! amazing

  • Oh wonderful a luxury prison for the sheep!

    The future has no children!

  • Lol I'm from hong kong

  • I want one

  • Why is his name Gary...

  • genius!

  • Go to see a French Musical Flashmob at the station Haussman Saint-Lazare in Paris June 22th, 2011 on youtube " To Hand The Torch ".

  • You also get in a workout moving all the walls like 10 times a day.

  • where's the bog

  • what happens when you really need to shit?

  • Gary has the coolest apartment

  • Come on Hong Kong, Pull your thumb out!

If this is what you are advertising as your answer to the problem of housing space then im sorry to say that you are fucked. You have fundamentally misunderstood the meaning of 'dwelling'. Stop masturbating with 3d max and read some Martin Heidegger like a proper fucking Architect.

  • Wow! what a genius!

  • looks so shit from the outside :)

this dude is sick, why are asians so smart :o

  • Are those CDs? Gettting rid of all your CDs and storing them on your computer is the easiest way to save space

  • a room withing a room!!! ROOMCEPTION

  • since when was leslie chow an apartment designer ?

  • This is beautiful.

  • watch?v=DYs55P4OoDg

    Ваномас VS Гагатун

  • what if you have people over and need to go toilet..or have a shower..

  • Brilliant!

  • omg so cooool

  • Damn no privacy for masturbation at all.

  • where is the toilet ?

  • @clarkehass approx 1:16

  • @clarkehass The window is the toilet solution, open it and use. The asian make correct use of ocidental inventions...... :[]

  • @clarkehass He pees trough the window...

  • @clarkehass It doubles as the sink.

  • @clarkehass There is one additional regular room with a toilet and sink, it's not shown in this story.

  • @clarkehass he just has to open the window, duh!

  • OH MY FRICKEN GOSH!

  • A good idea would have been to have a projector and have the curtains as the screen.

  • @moetyman I am thinking the same thing for every video that shows tiny apartments. What if he is sick, what if he needs fresh air, what if he wants to stretch his arms, what if he has to look away to a distance to rest his eyes?

  • lol where is his toilet?

  • @bleedingnumetal omg that's what I was wondering.

  • @bleedingnumetal window...

    hahahaha

  • that would suck if he forgot a bathroom lol

  • what happens when this guy is old?

  • Comment removed

  • Now that is epic.

  • If I lived in a house like that I wouldn't need to go to the GYM.

  • epik

  • misleading title

  • quests would say: can i use your bathroom?

  • THATS SO COOL MAN

  • If he can afford to do all this to an apartment, why can't he get a nice home?

  • @flandre11scarlet

This is because it would take 3 generations to repay the mortgage for a decently large apartment in Hong Kong. By the time your child or grandchild owned the apartment, it may be a hundred years already and had broken down into ruins.

  • best portfolio an architect can have!

  • Can't you all just appreciate what this guy has done instead of looking for the smallest opportunity to come down on him and China while you're at it? Who are YOU to talk? Really??

  • if he has such a shortage of space, where can he afford to leave the walls when he takes them out?

  • So... the problem would be... having guests over and someone needs to use the bathroom... ;-)

  • @RegentEstates jajajajjajaaja thanks for that comment lol i think the same some guys love this but i preffer tons of times usa and way bigger spaces than moving my house inside all the time and have at least 2 batrooms :) nice idea but i dont like tiny spaces there is no life

  • I wonder what would happen when an earthquake arises..haha

Well... I hope that doesn't happen..:)

  • Yes a small home with a flat screen thousands of CD's, all your typical appliances is "green". No its not its called cramped. Nice idea but green it is not.

  • This space is pretty fantastic. The only thing I don't like is the yellow filter on the windows. I'd much prefer real, natural light (blue-white) than a filtered yellow drab light. I wonder where the bathroom is.

  • I wouldn't go as far to to claim this room is Eco-friendly, but is sure is compact and efficient. That room is boss.

  • where is the toilet ?

  • Comment removed

  • @TANKEROANIMAL

Hong Kong isn't Japan. Besides, Hong Kong was always a strong ally with Britain and America, so keep your lips buttoned.

  • Does anyone know where i can buy windows like those?

  • Wait a second. How the f is NYC more dense than Hong Kong. It looks like NYC is more dense than Shanghai and Beijing also. Why aren't these archie kids designing stuff to fit in NYC?

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN. He's good.

  • I'm feeling some claustrophobia

  • The building version of Inception; rooms within a room

  • that's magic, man's a genius.

  • WHERE'S THE TOILET?!

  • @D4ntesword that was just what I was going to ask!! XD

  • @D4ntesword He shits out of the window.

  • @D4ntesword hey you never know it might come from the ceiling :D

  • @D4ntesword he goes to pee at the bar down on the street

  • +1420

  • omg! i'm gonna live in something like that one day!!

  • I want that damned house!!

  • love it! want a roommate?

  • Surely the relative cost of such a design would squeeze out the very people who live in such cheap, affordable housing. What kind of person who lives in this apartment block is likely to be able to indulge in a movie projector? As a concept, its very interesting but I can't see the practical application of this any more than I can see the price dropping.

  • @mgibletswow2 if you cant afford one of the 24 rooms...just cut it out?

  • @mgibletswow2

I agree most people in these living conditions probably can't finance an investment of this size, but you must also consider that Hong Kong is very very big, and people often work long hours and travel big distances to come home, for business men and women who work in Hong Kong, could this not be a viable option? You would have a place to stay close to work, but still have a nice home! 1/2

  • @mgibletswow2

I don't think this would be build at mass production, but I do think that, especially in the Chinese urban market more people could find this interesting. Aside from this consider that most Chinese people are in fact quite modest and don't need big flashy houses and cars to portray their ego's, so a rich Chinese man would be far more likely to buy this than a rich European or American man.

Oh and yeah subs were quite superfluous

  • @jimfromlondon Can you imagine that sickening crunching sound when you find your cell phone as you move a wall?

  • this is soo cool!! i want those sliding walls!! :D

  • It's very creative and all, AWESOME for one person...BUT - didn't he say that his parents, sisters, AND a tenant all lived (or use to) in that space, and that was COMMON in Hong Kong? How's his fabulous cutting edge design gonna work for THAT situation???

  • @NPIPPER lol yea I kno right. Fuckin dumb chinks. Amirite?

  • It's an old idea from decades ago that has come full circle people. As old as the Murphy bed he re-invented

  • 8 republicans disliked this
