@sliat1981 Because Ryan was already sick with pnemocystis and on top of that, his immune system was shot. If someone was ill, even if they didn't have symptoms, he would have gotten sicker. Plus that and the fact that Ryan was recovering from a lung biopsy.

They do the same with cancer patients when their immune systems are shot.

@dewydoright Magic is positive for the HIV virus but he hasn't gotten the disease of AIDS. I had a cat that was positive for FIV (feline immune deficiency virus - feline aids) but she never got the disease. She lived until she was 17, a good age for a cat.
