I have a fascination with the '38 hurricane, mentioned here; its course was predicted accurately by a junior member of the weather bureau, but unfortunately his warnings went unheeded, as the consensus among presumably more experienced forecasters was that the storm would miss the East Coast. "Nature in unbridled rage reveals her crushing strength," the narrator proclaims: so true!
Amazing, all these years and technological advances later and nothing changes when it comes to Mother Nature, man still (and always will) must bend to her will.
