When asked if I would be able to harmonize the Michael Anthony vocal parts, I simply replied, "I can't be any worse than the kid." It has taken me a good while to hit the harmony notes with consistence. What I hear in Wolf is a lack of ear training. He seems to be a natural player, and a decent bass player, but still needs to work on his vocal pitch. It's one thing to be a player, but another thing to be able to harmonize
I saw VH in Cleveland on this tour and Wolf sang great. There are clips on here where he's good and not so good (just like Eddie's playing these days). Consistency is the hardest thing in singing if you ask me. I too sing Micheal Anthony's parts in our VH covers, but I play lead guitar.

Mike still has an incredible voice! i wouldn't try singing back up vocals because i have no business doing that, and neither does Wolfgang! Van Halen should have got a real back up for Mike!

They sound drunk or something, maybe they're just getting too old and "out of the groove". A lot of bands can't do it anymore, there are a few who can though (Ozzy, Pink Floyd etc.)

You could look at it that way, but any guitarrist like me would tell you, soloing is the most fun you can have on a guitar, even if it's the same, if you wrote the solo, it never gets old
I love VH, but I'd bet there are 30,000 cover bands in this country who could play this stuff better and sing it better than these guys do now.
Dave was never the best singer.... But Ed used to kick butt on the guitar... and now his solos are messed up, almost as much as Dave's voice now. I'll always love the old VH and my old VH albums.... but they've just lost it.

Eddie Van Halen is a god and Alex is a great drummer so u know if Daves singin or Sammy singin really doesnt matter at this point it just seems that without Michael Anthony the harmonies suck the kid can't sing but overall its still pretty awesome.
What's the point of a ramp into the audience if your singer only uses it 4 times and one of the worlds best guitarist can use it because he is not on a wireless unit. The only people who are being performed to is the center floor section who paid a premium. People in the side arena sections are non-existant in the bands eyes.
Ed today can't seem to get that rich heavy sound that he had in his live shows in the late 70's. There is NO comparision to the band's unreleased videos I posted on my page of the late 70's with Van Halen's sound today! They still got it though.

I am a fan for over 20 yrs, but what is with Dave and the Red Hat every show during this song...looks like Disney's Jimmy The Cricket. His stage presence are classic stage moves from the Neil Diamond handbook. Would be nice if they would change the setlist song order. When all the fans know the exact song order and the show then loses it's bite. Shake it up a bit, don;t close with Jump...It was a popular song but a weak show closer.

I'm a very forgiving person, and haven't thought much negative thoughts towards this reuion tour. But hearing Wolfgang play those evil bass-notes at the beginning of this song hurts, it really hurts! :( Good luck to them though!

BUT....not when I'm paying to see them. Musically, this was awful...professionally, its an insult to everyone that bought a ticket. Sorry to say that...I grew up on this stuff, and have seen a lot of reunion tours of other bands, and there just isn't any excuse for this utter shit.

I was at the Vegas MGM show, one word to describe.........Eddie was the weak link, he made mistakes everywhere, his improv was sloppy and when he did his eruption solo, he sat on the edge of stage and blundered THE WHOLE THING, listen to him in THIS video, hes a mess! Sorry, my hero Ed, was a BIG dissapointment, that was REALITY that night.

Eddie Van Halen is a god and Alex is a great drummer so u know if Daves singin or Sammy singin really doesnt matter at this point it just seems that without Michael Anthony the harmonies suck the kid can't sing but overall its still pretty awesome.

What's the point of a ramp into the audience if your singer only uses it 4 times and one of the worlds best guitarist can use it because he is not on a wireless unit. The only people who are being performed to is the center floor section who paid a premium. People in the side arena sections are non-existant in the bands eyes.

Ed today can't seem to get that rich heavy sound that he had in his live shows in the late 70's. There is NO comparision to the band's unreleased videos I posted on my page of the late 70's with Van Halen's sound today! They still got it though.

I am a fan for over 20 yrs, but what is with Dave and the Red Hat every show during this song...looks like Disney's Jimmy The Cricket. His stage presence are classic stage moves from the Neil Diamond handbook. Would be nice if they would change the setlist song order. When all the fans know the exact song order and the show then loses it's bite. Shake it up a bit, don;t close with Jump...It was a popular song but a weak show closer.

I agree, Jump is too cheesy to end the show with. "Aint talkin bout love" would have been a better finale.
