@gfguys The end of this video says "Coming to your church summer 2009". Any chance of getting a version either without the date or with 2011 for those of us who are using Backstage with the Bible this year? I'm planning to embed the video on our church website. Thanks!

Young children are not capable of choosing for themselves. It really is our job to teach them. Just like we don't teach them a variety of table manners from different cultures and let them choose, we also don't teach them a variety of religions. Parents are responsible for teaching what the believe is right. Anything else will produce messed up kids. Yes they will still choose when they are older, but it is the parents' job to teach.
@katroger no it is not. are you stupid or what? religion is never mentioned in my country anyway i dont know anyone who goes to church, certainly not in my family and im very glad
Hi there, I'm glad you wrote here because I would like to respond to your comment.
Brainwashing means to try and instill beliefs in a person when they are unwelcome or in conflict with the person's prior beliefs. It's pretty different from teaching your kids what you believe. Do you mean shame on all Christian or shame on everyone who teaches their children about their faith? That would be a lot of people.
If you have a problem with Christianity, that's ok, but you might want to be more specific about what and whom you hate. I think it would be more productive, and you might get more of your real concerns addressed that way.
I hope you come across some great people whom you later realize were taught a faith by their parents or friends. Someone taught you something at some time-I hope it was love and compassion-I hope it was good and helpful. Thanks for reading. -Elizabeth
im just saying that parents should teach their kids about all religions and let the kids choose what to believe in, instead of forcing one specific view into their lives.
That's impossible. You either do not have kids or were raised by monkeys. That is what parenting is all about. They instill in their children what they deem best for them. It's the very definition of parents: one who sires or gives birth to and/or nurtures and raises an offspring. I'd like to see your comments pertaining to this same type of brainwashing coming from Hindu, Muslim, Jainism, Shinto, or the P.P. Movement. I'm sure you'd say nothing. But because Jesus isn't PC you cringe.
oh you're calling my parents monkeys. thats... thats really christian of you. so you are saying that parenting are about dismiss everything that goes against their beliefs as lies and blasphemy. its the same coming from muslim, hindu etc.
Truthfully they aren't forced, they choose, their parents influence them but it doesn't keep them from making their own choice. Hopefully you will understand some day.
