  • love these arguments that I allways come across when I search up music artists

  • good old mafia song :) i love it

  • Reinhardt was in constant agony.

The left side of his body remained unhealed for the rest of his life since the caravan fire deformed his hand and legs when he was 18.

The skin on his left hand was fused tight together and sometimes it would tear and bleed. He had to drink heavy to kill the pain.

I caught a glimpse of Django's guitar when it was on show in Ivor Mairants Shop during the late 60s.

    The action was VERY high.

Consider his handicap plus the discomfort of his guitar?. He was UNIQUE.

  • @jmsbk12345 That is wonderful! Please tell your wife to send me some of her favourite dessert recipes, stat! :) I wish Django were here so I could leave one of my pies on his doorstep. :) Thanks for pointing me towards your channel, sounds great!

  • Mr. Salieri's Mafia will caught one man

  • so short and so beatiful song

  • PPPPPARáááááááda

  • a kiss in your face Django.......thanks a LOT for your kind to play guitar .........your irremissible ARTTTTTTTTT come with us

  • Best musician in history (IMO)

  • WOW! So this was played live on the radio during Germany's occupation of France right? AMAZING!

  • Everytime i hear Django i realise that the best music has ALL been accomplished. Guitar artistry stopped when Reinhardt died.

  • Well it didn't stop but this is not what the society is loooking for in the moment so they're not well known... But in France there are sompe great ones !

  • @taildragger51 that is fucking retarded what about Michael keene, rhandy rhoads, jake e lee, paco de lucia, al di meola, michael romeo, and carlos santana to name a few. you're a dumbass

  • @sniperkneupper Paco de lucia compared to django Reinhardt.. Music compared to shred :( Even even if the person that said there was no more guitar artistry is wrong, please don't try to compare a beautiful improvisation on minor swing for instance with a contest of wristle such as Mediterranean Sundance ( which is really good to learn actually, but not to perform )

  • @Cthulhussama There have been plenty of superb players, although i'm a jazz fan and would rate Joe Pass, Tal Farlowe, Wes Montgomery, George Benson before any others (all were influenced by Django)

BUT there's something totally spooky about Django's playing.

I've been listening to him since 1966 and everytime i play a tune of his a different atmosphere takes over.

The level of emotion, passion, melancholy is beyond words.

Di Meola/McLaughlin /Coryell all say "Django SPEAKS to you!"

  • @Cthulhussama thats not the paco de lucia piece that I was referring to. And if you listen to more django he shreds A LOT.

  • @sniperkneupper Their nowhere near, however great technically. Even people like Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page , Richie Blackmore and thousands of others, including Santana, have said nobody made a complete connection to their instrument like Django.

And they know alot more than you, a mere blogger on youtube.

Every note he hit was with pure passion. None of the ones you mention have the same handicap as Django and how would they sound if they did?

  • @taildragger53 and those all were worshiping fan boys. This guy was just a good guitarist nothing more. To say that there are no passionate and skilled guitar players since the 40's is just retarded. Listen to the solos from mastodons elephant songs or their leads on crack the skye. Seriously why are django fanboys such snobby douchebags. I don't hear anything that is SO MUCH BETTER than anything that followed. Granted his playing is inspiring but he doesn't invalidate everyone that followed.

  • @sniperkneupper Well, i'm not going to argue with you.

If you want to know the reason WHY Django is regarded as the BEST then you'll have to ask John McLaughlin,George Benson,Martin Taylor, Andy Summer, Steve Howe,Page, Beck, Catherine, Bireli Lagrene and millions of other "snobby douchebags" , as you've termed them.

Argue it with THEM, not me, but remember..THEY are famous and YOU'RE not!

  • @taildragger53 ... As I listen to the playlist of 100 Django songs, this being #21... I see so many people argue... or have to for some reason ... defend Django's music to the very few... who WILL NEVER know.... I say, leave them be and leave them ignorant... they deserve that... and more... :-)

Please... save yourself the trouble... it really is sad and hard to understand... how some people can not grasp the simplicity and complexity of Django's music... you need not be a music lover to know

  • @735vinnie You are absolutely right. I just can't help getting involved BUT , you are spot on, it IS a waste of time. I think its a sign of the times..ignorance is bliss.(ha ha!) I am gonna take your advice.

  • @taildragger51

Check out some jimmy rosenberg or bireli lagrene ;)

  • You outta love this guy playing...... I love this kinda music it's just sooooooooo relaxing

  • Uwielbiam usiąść przy butelce whisky i słuchać takiej muzy :D

  • I just cant enough of this song...

  • Is there anybody else like me? I just can't get enough of Django.

  • @jmsbk12345 come check out my channel, loads of Django, he is my muse. only since you asked...i thought i'd point you my way.

  • @jenzeppelin Thanks Jen, I've checked out your channel. Groovy food and music. Maybe you need to speak to my wife as she is a grade 3 chef/baker etc. As for me I'm a music nut (huge collection), guitar teacher and performer and also a wedding DVD professional cameraman. Please check out my channel: jmsbk12345 Feel free to leave some comments underneath the videos. Oh yes, you could also check out: john berry guitarist . This is a short clip of me playing some jazz.
