its not a 380 watt rms amp fella it will be peak music power which is much much lower.......with out a proper amp something will go pop....lol! but for what you payed for it dose that really matter to much???...lol!
clipping has nothing to do with volume. When you clip you send a square wave to it, which is distorted power. The area under the curve is huge, which is too much "dirty" power. At this time your speakers are clipping outside the pole cooling position, so it can't cool the coil and it will fry.
Also, this system is ghetttttto. Get some real speakers, amps, etc. This is embarassing.
for a grand total of $77 and change i have a set of custom built cabs that would blow these out of the water. and they use 10in subs. and yes contrary to popular belief you can ruin something when you under power speakers, your amp, because you have more than just the resistance of the speaker, you have caps, crossovers, and other components in your speaker that operate within a certain range of powers.
i used to have the same panasonic till i sold it because those are for like litttle kids now im runing harmon kardon yamaha kenwood and nuance sounds great now oh and you cant run 15 s off a panasonic
hey its all good i remember at 13-14 years old playing music thru whatever i can find and i enjoyed it. you can also try goodwill stores sometimes you can find good deals on nice equipment.
dude ive been collecting audio since i was 12 after my shit combo thing like you got there went up in smoke, i worked my ass off doing work for ppl gardens etc to get better equipment and yes i traded and got some great stuff in the end. What you got to remember is put thought into what your trading, big doesn't always means better and more watts per speaker dont mean they are gonna blow your mind. Im now 26 and have a super system which ive hurt myself working for.
true..don tlet them put u down...im only 14..but i love science..and iknow ur railing ur speakers...u arnt giving them enough power..speaers take power..u cant give it to to them.if there is not enough they will break..for a good receiver get the pyle pro 3000 watt receiver with separate sub output..i dont buy any already made speakers...i bought 4 12" pyle subs....with 2 pyle woofers...a 2 high midranges and 4 tweters...the systems blasts...but im gonna add some more to it...ill put it on asap
This is new...ive never seen 70's or 80's era Speakers connected to a Modern Amp/Reciever from a Shelf Stereo System....its an Odd Setup...but ill give you an A for Effort. :-)
Quick Lesson: Id HIGHLY advise you to not hookup all those speakers to that stereo either. Your gonna end up blowing the amp in the stereo! I saw your sub head moving which means your probably peaking them with that unit. I use 4 HUGE DUAL Speaker MTX Towers! I ONLY hookup 2 of them to ONE amp! Just a little advise you might like man!
speakers move to produce sound... The "head" is the cone. The movement of the cone creates pressure creating sound... So a speaker moving is blowing it? My RE sub does around 2" of excursion, thats movement and its being underpowered... And the only way a speaker can be blown by a less powerfull amp is the amp clipping from stress, and ALOT of noobs are creating this thing underpowering blows subs because they got their facts screwed up. So how is the sub gonna blow when its moving?
@masterwolf1212 dude... 100% correct... i hate it when people say that underpowering blows speakers.... its not the underpowering that blows speakers, its the amp clipping when you push it too far trying to get lots of volume.
Hey man, dont let any of these people pull you down! Your no pro and they probably arent either. If you wanna use a home system man..id advise getting maybe a better reciever!
I use a pretty expensive DENON reciever at home! Its AMAZING. Dont waste money on those 100-250 watt Wal Mart stereos! Just get you a reciever man :) However im a Mobile DJ so my equiptment requires AMPS and all that jazz but with what your wanting to do..GOOD reciever is best! Most have built in AMPS! Goodluck man
whoa looked like something i had when i was 15 but better. had a Pioneer sx 1980 receiver and some vintage Cerwing Vegas / feel free to look those up to get a idea. with the exception of my current hook up "axiom audio gear" my old school rack system was it.. would like to put together one for old time sake...
yes this set up does sux ass he even admits it what i dont understand is why hes still using the radio why the hell do people waste there time hooking a radio like that up ??
and heres one more, right off a speaker website. it talks about three ways.
READ VERY CAREFULLY.
Misconceptions
While 3-way speakers utilize drivers for high, mid and low frequencies, the term does not necessarily mean that the speakers use 3 drivers. Many speakers incorporate multiple drivers for each frequency. Therefore a 3-way speaker could have a far greater number of drivers than 3. More drivers are often used in pricier speakers to create enhanced performance.
i like this video because its humble and at least ur man enough to show ur system instead of lying about it like these haters do. save up for a decent amp and you will b good. i just bought a pioneer vsx elite from ebay $36 shipped last week. look at craigslist, dumpsters, goodwill. i want you to make a vid when you get a new receiver!
fisher and pioneer are very good brands and that pos cd player thing doesnt deserve to run them, that makes the speakers seem bad.get a amp ok ok youll spend like 60$ for a good used amp but its worth it,trust me
thoses fisher are alright but there not that great i heard there only 300w a piece i have a pair of dmx-5000 that are 7way 500 a piece that i dont hardly use because of the 10 15's that im running right now on my system ......which brings me to my next question why do people think bookshelf systems are powerful??
I think alot of "young" developing intrests within electronics inspire videos such as this.. perhaps this person figured out how to plug in speakers to his system, then tried to put a second set into the same output and heard it worked and thought he was doing something awesome. <.<; soon he'll figure that he'll get more power from those speakers with an amp, and start from the bottom.. or he'll just never learn.. -shrug-
this dude needs a integraded amp along with a 20 band eq to balance out his sound it sounds horrible right now .....those fishers do deserve better :(
so it doesnt matter if you have 20 mids and 20 highs and 1 15'inch speaker its still 3 way i think you wrong and dont know where you get your information but its wrong so just because your hearing the 4 mids your gonna count them as one? anybody will tell you thats bull shit
The crossover takes the signal from the amplifier and splits it into 3 frequency ranges and sending those signals to the speakers best designed to handle those frequencies.
@cichlidkeeper89 Its about BOTH. Sensitivity is a plus, but that will increase with almost any speaker after the years once it gets really loose. But if you have a speaker with 92db and it only handles 150wrms, thats ok. But its not gonna be louder than a speaker with 86db that can handle 1kwrms.
my shit way louder then that pos this dude have i got 2 10 and 2 15 inch pioneer speakers with a sony 1000 watt receiver dude turn that bull shit off u are goin to bust them lol
You have some nice cabs but are gonna kill them and your minni system. You've halfed the ohmage per side doing this. Your gonna damage the amp BIG TIME. Damage the amp and then you get bad signals coming out with in turn will fry those rather nice cabs. Just a word of warning fella :-)
Ah, the old skool speakers! I remember when I had a set up like this b4 I got a seperate 350w Yamaha Sub woofer. If you put sticky tape on the edges of the cones, you can get more out of them! That's how they work!
I think Celestians were the best speakers ever made. Made to last for ever, thats why they went bust!
These speakers are awsome because they are likely pushing 30 or even 40 years, possibly 40 years of high excursion and bottoming out and still pumping out loud bass! Today, only the best of the best speakers last for more than a decade without something going wrong : /. At least as far as I know. Nice speakers BTW : ).
Looks like somebody ate a Radioshack, then crapped it out...

theres no such thing as 7 way speakers. also, power handling means nothing if you dont have sensitivity to back it up.
heres an example.
my friend has some floorstanding speakers, they handle 150 watts rms and have 86db sensitivity.
i have some bookshelf speakers (audiophile quality) they only handle 80 watts rms. but, they have 92db sensitivity.
if i gave his speakers the full 150 watts,
my speakers would be just as loud at 36 watts. its all about sensitivity NOT power handling.
cichlidkeeper89 2 years ago
yeah theres a such thing as 7 way speakers 4 mids going highs going acrossed 1 mid on the right side and a horn with a 15"inch speaker on bottom
eze14213 2 years ago
just because you have 7 speakers in an enclosure doesnt make it 7 way.
its 3 way.
you have the crossover going into speakers that cover (1) LOW, (2) MIDS,
(3) HIGHS
a two way speaker would be (1)HIGHS,
(2)MID BASS
they "WAY" is not the number of drivers, its how the crossover is divided among them.
cichlidkeeper89 2 years ago 2
so it doesnt matter if you have 20 mids and 20 highs and 1 15'inch speaker its still 3 way i think you wrong and dont know where you get your information but its wrong so just because your hearing the 4 mids your gonna count them as one? anybody will tell you thats bull shit
eze14213 2 years ago
its NOT the amount of drivers,
its the CROSSOVER.
3 way speaker LOW, MID, HIGH.
i JUST looked it up on multiple websites.
heres a quote from the last one.
The crossover takes the signal from the amplifier and splits it into 3 frequency ranges and sending those signals to the speakers best designed to handle those frequencies.
cichlidkeeper89 2 years ago
this may confuse u but some speaers are 2.5 and 2.5, this is where they use they more then 1 driver for the bass,
so a 2.5 way speakrs, will ahve 1 high and 1 low and another low
kboy3141 2 years ago
no confusion here,
ive seen 2.5 ways,
if i remember correctly,
2.5 way speakers have
a tweeter, mid bass, and bass.
the mid bass handles more bass than a midrange and more midrange than a woofer.
its like the best of both worlds.
im not sure if all 2.5 way speakers are designed like that, but i know for sure that some are.
im sure youve seen my insane amount of comments.lol
i have been trying to explain to someone that three way speakers can have more than three drivers.lol
cichlidkeeper89 2 years ago
yes i know, i have read all your comments, i agree with u lol, that other guy is teh one causing all these confusion
kboy3141 2 years ago
@cichlidkeeper89 Its about BOTH. Sensitivity is a plus, but that will increase with almost any speaker after the years once it gets really loose. But if you have a speaker with 92db and it only handles 150wrms, thats ok. But its not gonna be louder than a speaker with 86db that can handle 1kwrms.
320bit 2 years ago
i know that, im just saying that its not ALL about power.
of course a speaker that handles 1000rms with 86db sensitivity will be louder.
i was just giving an example.
i have some speakers in storage that handle 300rms and have a sensitivity of 103db. they are LOUD, they just sound like shit.lol
cichlidkeeper89 2 years ago
its actually close though.lol
after doing some math and then double checking it on the internet.lol
this is what i have come up with.
a speaker with 86db sensitivity at 1kw rms
will put out roughly 119.1 db @ 1M
a speaker with 92 db sensitivity at 150w rms will put out roughly 117.5 db @ 1M.
thats only a 1.6DB difference.
pretty good considering the 92 db sensitivity speaker is recieving 850 less watts.
cichlidkeeper89 2 years ago
@cichlidkeeper89 I dont know where you got that information. But it all varies. All your figures are completely off.
First off, my Premier was 86db and at 1200wrms it was doing near 140db. And thats in the cab. So at one meter it would be louder.
320bit 2 years ago
im talking about home audio.
not car audio.
speakers will produce much higher spl
in that small of an area.
im talkin like a 12x15 room. (or so)
take your premier, put it in a house, apply the same 1200wrms. see if it still hits 140db

That actually sounds shit!

These speakers are awsome because they are likely pushing 30 or even 40 years, possibly 40 years of high excursion and bottoming out and still pumping out loud bass! Today, only the best of the best speakers last for more than a decade without something going wrong : /. At least as far as I know. Nice speakers BTW : ).

mdeonx16 2 years ago
theres no differnce in passive and active performanc, it just aint got an amp, unless of course u care about aht
kboy3141 2 years ago
too many woofers which i think have low power...why not settle for a single real subwoofer.
