Yesterday Blue and I were hit by a car, i was wearing a bright green jacket with reflectors on it in the afternoon ,we were down the street from home. The man was speeding and my last thought was why is he going so fast? He hit us and I flew 30 feet through the air I landed in the middle of the road with a broken pelvis and tailbone he kept driving all I could see were his tail lights as he sped off. Blue stayed next to me while he bled out and I couldnt go to him. RIP Blue I love you big boy.

Spot got spooked so bad once that he nearly jumped onto the other side of the rode where a car was comeing towords us, didnt even stop to see if we were ok. I have also had many experences try to stop my pig headed appy galloping down the rode becouse of a bike, kids on skate boreds yalling at us and cars tooting at us

This actually happened to me once (although not as bad and thankfully not fatal).. but the horse i was on was startled by something and swung her bum out (a tiny bit) and stopped and would not move. this car then came by not even noticing that it couldn't squeeze past her, still carried on driving although luckily it was a 10 mph road and pushed past my horse, the owner of the horse was with me and we cantered after the car until it realised we were after it, and stopped. Dear Hollys best friend, you should be so proud of your self for being able to set this up! I was hit by a car pulling out of a petrol station in broad daylight while wearing hi-viz and he just drove of and left us, lucky my horse was ok but i could not think about it for month with out breaking down!!

HORSES have right of way on the road, go read your highway code, roads are NOT reserved for anything, because of ROADS many of our bridle ways have been closed of and turned into roads or bike paths, i am i driver and it has never killed me loosing 30sec's of my times to slowly pass a horse or to let them cross infront of me, if i ever met you i'd personally run you of the road my self!!

A couple of horses have died on our neighbouring yard from cars hitting them, it is more common than you think. I think if someone hit my horse, accident or not, i would beat the S*** out of them!

So sorry about Holly. How traumatic. With fewer places to ride these days some of us are forced to ride on the roads from time to time. It infuriates me when someone doesn't slow down at all when they see you. My horse is traffic safe but when someone speeds past you oncoming at 45 it can make any horse do an about face. People have no consideration for others.

I know what happens here my stable is not far from five arches ( a huge park) and this girl from anothor yard was riding down to go to five arches she had to cross 2 very very busy roads. she crosssed the first on but the second one her horses spooked and a lorry hit it. they called the vet as soon as it happend. the girl was okay but was in hospital and the was shot. I will never ever rider my 20 year old pony Spike on the road. I will just never do it.

Watching these video's make me feel awful :'( Drivers should learn to drive slowley past rider's on their horses, As horses can get easiley spooked. Thats why I recommend when out hacking with your friends or on your own, REMEMBER to atleast were a HI-VIZ JACKET or a HI-VIZ COAT to go on your horse. BE SEEN, BE SAFE, BE SENSIBLE.

I am always complaining about the roads to my mum and dad, how fast they go and that there is no speed limit on my small road! I once had someone swearing and shouting rude comments at me because i was slow. this was partly because my pony had bucked me off for no real reason! i have a sticker on my mums car to tell them to slow when going past horses, and wear reflective jackets when riding.

were i live there was a rider with her horse and he was on quiet roads but then her horse must have got spooked and it bolted down in the the village were there is very busy roads! and well cars were stoppping to let the horse pass as the rider was screaming for them to stop, she had run her friend asking him to stop cars on the main road and he managed to stop them, appart from a bus, he ignorred his signals and ran straight in to the horse, im glad you are making this campaign, good luck!!!!!!

My route to work goes through a village that has a busy livery yard. I always drive slow around the narrow country lanes on my route to work as I often come across riders. I was shocked to see one girl out riding on a foggy day - riding one leading another - with no high vis gear on. Unfortunately, the route I take is a rat run and other drivers aren't as careful and I often have other drivers up by backside as I drive slow through the village. Accident waiting to happen.

same thinh happened to me beginning of this year, luckily my pony got up but he ran in to a telegraph pole as soon as he got up cause he was frigtened.. He was soo still for so long i actually thought i lost him :( luckily he waas fine and hes now been sold & away jumping.. But he is scared of cars now & probally will be for a wile :(

I'm not being funny but alot of riders on the road do not wear safety gear, its issential! Not all car drivers can be blamed, sometimes its a meer mistake. I've also seen riders with nothing on, except a flurocent yellow bit of tape round the horses tail on a foggy day that was spooking at everything, that's putting yourself, your horse and a driver in danger, its not all car drviers faults, but this is a horrible story :'( I'm so sorry! Long story short, it's about ghost of people who have been murdered because someone was in a hurry. They all want to know what was so important that the person killed them to get there. This is why I hate riding on the roads.

just over a year me and my pony went out hacking. SHe is very easily spooked, so when a motorbike passed she flipped. IN the drivers defence- he wasnt speeding or anything my pony is just very sensative. She span round to tank home and in the process slipped over, crashing to the flor sending me flying. She scrambled up and galloped home leaving me confused. Thankfully she was unhurt, and i was left with a couple of deep grazes.

It is'nt always the car drivers fault; the yard next door just lost a horse- he was'nt very well schooled and his owner did'nt really allow him to trust her- the horse bolted- crashed into a car occupied by an elderly couple- the car tore one of the horses legs off-the vet had to shoot him and the old couple were traumatised. I've never had a problem with car drivers [except for B.M.W drivers]- Had a gang of Hells Angels slow and crawl past me on their Harleys the other day!

Im sorry for the loss of your mare....i was in a similar situation the other week...i was wearing hi viz clothing and 2 harley davidson motorbikes came right up behind my mare obviously then spooking her and leading to us being in the middle of a busy road.making things even worse a milk tanker came in the opposite direction i flagged him down and yet he didnt stop or attept to slow down..thank god there was an open gate way by the side of me so i took my horse in there...Some idiots dont think!

I'm lucky to live on quiet country lanes, n the only cars I see r locals & they r very good with the horses (Mostly young ones because I do breakin & trainin) I didn't always wear reflective clothin, mostly bcuz I 4got or it was jst a hassle, bt after watchin this I realize nething can happen and It's better to be safe than sorry. I'll wear reflective gear in future

there are some fucking idiots on the roads, in the last 2 years, I lost 2 of my friends on the roads, at exactly the same place a year apart from each other

It seems that if someone is driving a gold car through my village, they have no respect for anyone.

30 people have died on the road on which i loast 2 friends in the last year, the drivers are, so far, doing fuck all as far as i can tell.
