@ClimbingKid19 you can find cheaper from people around town probably.. i have got two 10" american pro's in a slot ported box for sale with an amplifier. i got my whole system in my truck for 170$ thats Cd player/2500 watt amplifier/15" Rockford Fosgate P3 in a slot ported box/ wires and all, you just got to look around saves a hell of alot of money man! but if you like kicker and want one, you can do that. its all about what you want!

What size are those subs? I play bass an I can't replicate standard 5 string Bass Guitar frequencies without drop off with a 15" speaker cone. I don't see how sub woofers work unless there is sub magic going on.

@Darken69 i got some advice. first of all check the subs recomended enclosure, if its sealed then put them in sealed. and second look at the recomended rms in the instructions and buy two amps at that rms or one amp thats the combined rms of both subs. and in my opinion you dont need 6x9s unless thats what fits in your vehicle. get some 6-1/2 speakers by kicker or something and power then with the 200 wat amp. that amp will power 4 kickers and it will sound good and loud.
@tjandnaomi thanks :) i got the 6x9s because otherwise it'd be all bass and no treble or tweet. i got lucky with those tho', they came free with a $500 car i bought. right now i'm outta work, so buying 6-1/2 will have to wait a while for now. the subs and amps i bought with a tax return about 5 years ago or so. the subs are 200 watts rms i think. i threw away the paperwork on them. the brands i try to stick with are kicker, fosgate and FI BTL.
There's nothing special about the BTL to be quite honest with you. I've heard a 12" BTL in a properly built enclosure, and I wasn't impressed. A single subwoofer can't make a difference in car audio. The people bragging about the BTL are just a bunch of Steve Meade followers, and I've seen and heard better builds. I've been doing 12V for 10 years, and a good systemis properly designed and tuned for the purpose, not just having a BTL like people claim, you know what I mean?
@phattacorider The Fi BTL is a great subwoofer, It doesn't have any cons that i can think of.. It can take over 1,000 more watts rms then what it is rated for by Fi, and create accurate sound when put in a proper enclosure.

I spent around $80 on my lil system 2 Rockford punch xlc 12's and and one Rockford punch 400a4 the rear channel is bridged to the subs and front channels are powering a set of components. I feel subs need more power but it's good enough for me.

i dont do it half assed i just dont clean up the wires like i would in a customers car because i change setups frequently and got tired of taking wires out and then running them back through all clean like.plus i just want sound not something custom because im going to get rid of the car soon anyway so im waiting for something a little bit more permanent before i do something crazy. and, like i said i have a video of photos ive took of cars my shop has done for proof i know what clean looks like

if you have 4 subs and each sub is 4ohms wire them up as 2 subs on each channel if its a 2channel amp but wire them in series so it makes 8ohms and that will be safe. if you wire them in parallel you will take the ohms down to 2ohms each side so if your amp ain't 2ohms stable you will slowly kill it. it will draw to much power cos of the low ohms. you will be safe doing it in series. look it up on the web to get a clearer idea. if ur subs are 2ohms it will make 4 in series which is also stable.
dude you have to runn one amp per speaker depending on there power one too many speakers hooked up to one amp will frie it and burn down your car you can have two amps runn two speakers it will work first before you runn two or three amps you have to buy more power wire and get a pheonix gold power block or any power block it will help you

I had a Phoenix Gold Octane 800 watt on two kicker comp vrs and it did the job. Strong amp and never got to hot and shut off. Not one of the higher brands out there but did really good for what it was.
wish i could get something like this in my regular cab ram 1500. I NEED MY LEG ROOM! lol.
for the time being i had to get a $100 dual 8 inch sub from walmart in a powered bandpass box to last me since thats all that i could afford that would fit
my first set up was only 250$ had subs with tweeters in them old school style (later replaced by duals in a bandpass box for free). all powered up by a off brand over rated amp with poor rca connectors that were somewhat broken from not being screwed to the trunk floor (always mount your amp there not that sturdy when flopping around your trunk), poor wiring, and stock 17yr old tweeters. all with the cheapest / most functional head unit . you get what you pay for i guess lol.
that silver amp is a phenix gold (Octane R 15.o:1) its a 1500watt mono block amplifire for that class that its runnig (G class) its recomended to only run 12" subs.. (highly recomended). it pounds the crap out of my Clairion PSXW1252's.. it also does suck up alot of power but u shouldnt have to rev up the truck... get a compassitor (power cap) it will keep your batter from going under 9v. wich save's u from shorts n a bunch of other stuff u dont want happenning..

@kingmel2009 gotta comb through the online sites. Rockford discontinued the HX2 series and replaced it with either the Punch or Power Series, cant remember which it was.

yeah i know mine does need work but its my car and its a pos dodge stratus so im not worried, but if i ever did that in one of my customers cars i would get fired on the spot. if you ever saw one of my clean custom installs your mouth would drop.

i dont do it half assed i just dont clean up the wires like i would in a customers car because i change setups frequently and got tired of taking wires out and then running them back through all clean like.plus i just want sound not something custom because im going to get rid of the car soon anyway so im waiting for something a little bit more permanent before i do something crazy. and, like i said i have a video of photos ive took of cars my shop has done for proof i know what clean looks like

if you have 4 subs and each sub is 4ohms wire them up as 2 subs on each channel if its a 2channel amp but wire them in series so it makes 8ohms and that will be safe. if you wire them in parallel you will take the ohms down to 2ohms each side so if your amp ain't 2ohms stable you will slowly kill it. it will draw to much power cos of the low ohms. you will be safe doing it in series. look it up on the web to get a clearer idea. if ur subs are 2ohms it will make 4 in series which is also stable.

dude you have to runn one amp per speaker depending on there power one too many speakers hooked up to one amp will frie it and burn down your car you can have two amps runn two speakers it will work first before you runn two or three amps you have to buy more power wire and get a pheonix gold power block or any power block it will help you

I had a Phoenix Gold Octane 800 watt on two kicker comp vrs and it did the job. Strong amp and never got to hot and shut off. Not one of the higher brands out there but did really good for what it was.

my first set up was only 250$ had subs with tweeters in them old school style (later replaced by duals in a bandpass box for free). all powered up by a off brand over rated amp with poor rca connectors that were somewhat broken from not being screwed to the trunk floor (always mount your amp there not that sturdy when flopping around your trunk), poor wiring, and stock 17yr old tweeters. all with the cheapest / most functional head unit . you get what you pay for i guess lol.

that silver amp is a phenix gold (Octane R 15.o:1) its a 1500watt mono block amplifire for that class that its runnig (G class) its recomended to only run 12" subs.. (highly recomended). it pounds the crap out of my Clairion PSXW1252's.. it also does suck up alot of power but u shouldnt have to rev up the truck... get a compassitor (power cap) it will keep your batter from going under 9v. wich save's u from shorts n a bunch of other stuff u dont want happenning..

another amp you can get tons of juice out of for the price around 150-200 usd
is the hcca 225 its from the 80s but can take tons and tons of abuse and you can wire it almost any somewhat logical way and it will take it...
my bud had one that he ran @ 1ohm on i think 6-10's or something and it got so hot it melted the carpet but still pounded
im trying to work my way up to where i need something like that i only have 4 12s atm good stuff exo..
